WL Honeymoon suite disappointment?

I just saw new photos of the WL honeymoon suite and was extremely disappointed. It doesn't look much different than a regular room. I was expecting something a little more luxurious, maybe not as extravagent as the presidential suites, but more than a regular room.

Has anyone been there recently? Am I missing something? And, does anyone know the price difference than a regular room?

Honestly the bathroom is the only thing that is different in my opinion. The rooms themselves are in great locations and you do have concierge access, but...it is just a room with a king bed. Nothing really spectacular. It is laid out a little different than a regular king room, but I don't think they are really any 'larger". The bathrooms are nice with a jetted tub. I would still take the room, and request one on the North side. Those have a great view of MK and the fireworks. There are only a few Honeymoon suites, so remember it would be a request only and not something they can guarantee.

I am not sure what the price difference is, as it can vary based on time of year and such. I personally would stay with the Honeymoon suite, but go into it knowing what to expect so your are not disappointed when you arrive. Or, I would move to the Villas (if you can afford it) and get a 1 bedroom...the tub in those alone is worth it.

I agree with CDSTapisRouge, if there isn't too much difference in price ans you can swing it I would get a 1 bedroom at the WLVillas. They are much more luxurious and the tub in the bathroom is great. You can open the shutters and watch TV in the master bedroom, although this is your honeymoon - skip the TV:rotfl: . With the extra room you can also spread out and your new hubby can make you breakfast in bed with the full kitchen. The view of the lake from the upper floors is wonderful so I would ask for an upper floor. Have a spectacular honeymoon.

There are 4 honeymoon suites at WL....I recently had one booked with free dining and cancelled...re booked if you will using the new code and got back in with a courtyard view room and am getting abt $600 back.

Room is the same sq footage abt..albeit jacuzzi tub and King...I would go for the VWL 1 BDR....have a great time:)
Congrats!!!!

You'd actually have to compare the prices to a standard concierge room as they have the same amenities. So, for $20 more per night, you are guaranteed a king bed and a jacuzzi tub, in addition to the club level benefits.

WL Standard room Courtyard view, king room request $270
WL Standard club level, king room request $375
WL Honeymoon room, club level, king room guaranteed $395

Why not go for a one bedroom over at VWL instead? You'll get the separate bedroom with king sized bed, jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, living room and kitchen.

I agree. We stayed there 10 years ago, and it looked the same as other rooms (then and now), except for the king bed, fabulous bathroom, and the secluded feeling. The location - top floor, overlooking lobby, sharing the hallway with only one other room - was great. The jacuzzi alone made me feel that we were staying some place special (it was our honeymoon). Although we loved it (and we were even on the "wrong side" without the view of MK), it is misnamed, in my opinion. It isn't really a suite.

We stayed before it was concierage, and it wasn't much more in cost than a regular room, similar to the comparison of the WL Standard club level king room request vs. WL Honeymoon suite club level king room. This is more of a comparison of apples to apples. Comparing the Honeymoon suite to a one bedroom or even a studio at VWL is apples and oranges. It just depends on what you are looking for.

If you are just a couple and you are planning to get concierage anyway, I would definitely go for it.

We were planning on staying there for our wedding and luckily I got a tour of one of the WL honeymoon rooms. I'm glad I did because I was so disappointed. They are so boring and even though the tub is real nice, it's not separate from the shower like the ones in DVC or the garden suites at the BWI.

IAnd they charge HOW much for that Wl Honeymoon Suite...I mean, ahem. room?! :) I am glad I changed now!

I agree, that the phrase honeymoon suite does evoke images of something far more special. In reality though, you are paying for a club level room. The $20 more per night, guarantees the king bed (not unlike what's done in the mods). If you're truly looking for special, I would suggest you check out the garden suites at the BWI. It's $200 more per night, but with it's private garden, white picket fence and bi-level design, I think it fits the description of a honeymoon suite much better.
