We are trying to make some plans for our Feb. 05 trip. There will myself, DH and DS11 and DS3. WL is one of the resorts we are considering and I'm curious about the different views. What/how much difference is there from courtyard, lodge and standard? Worth the difference in $$? Any help would be appreciated.

The rooms at WL are a little smaller than a typical Deluxe, but it is also less pernight.

I enjoyed WL and felt it was well worth the money.

As far as views, from what I've heard standard views can include the parking lot, the loading dock, etc. Woods views are self explanitory ;) , and Courtyard views are views of the pool (and or the pool area between WL and VWL.

We stayed at the Lodge in March and I just booked a standard room, I thought I would take my chances. When I checked in we were upgraded to a courtyard view. I must tell you that it was beautiful, but it was very noisy. I was on the 3rd floor and we could hear a lot of noise from the pool, the voices really seemed to carry. The other issue is the noise from the Electrical Light Parade that goes past the Lodge at about 9:40 pm. The music is quite loud. We had a 3 year old at the time and usually like to have her asleep by that time.

So I guess you just have to decide what your priorities are. If you need quiet to go to sleep early, I definately do not recommend spending the extra money for the courtyard/pool view.

Views are what you make of them. If you spend more than 30 minutes a day enjoying the "view", the extra money might be worth it, but for an occasional glance from the balcony, I would say just book the least expensive room and hope for the best. Good luck!

I have always booked Standard View if available, a few times I have had to book a Woods View....I have never stayed in a Standard View at Wilderness Lodge and I have only stayed in a Woods View once, last May when we where upgraded to Concierge on the 7the floor.

The bottom line is just how much time you spend sitting on your balcony and looking out. If you are they type of person who does sit out on the balcony then you may want to pay a little more for the woods or courtyard view, But if not the standard is not bad and is cheaper then the other two. I have stayed at all three, and for me it was a matter of the amount of money I had on hand to pay for a room at the time. The rooms inside are all the same. I will be staying going in August and a woods view. Also most of the standard rooms are over the lobby, which is nice in its own way as you wake up and are able to look at the grandness of the Lobby.

Either way you will have a good time.
