Hi everyone,

I was lucky enough to snag a Deluxe Room for our October/November trip this year at the Wilderness Lodge. My family and I have never stayed at this resort. I'm SO excited! I was wondering if anyone has ever stayed in one of the Deluxe Rooms and could give me any info on them. Where are they located? What type of view can I hope for? Any room suggestions? Also ANY info you'd be willing to give on the Lodge itself will be greatly appreciated:jester:
Thanks in advance:p

Our crew stayed in one last December and loved it!! My understanding is b/c of the layout the rooms are either in the middle of the wings or at the ends. We were in room 3003 which if you were standing in the lobby was at the end of the left side wing. We LOVED the location. We had a view of trees with the water and MK boat dock behind them. We could hear the geyser going off - it was great. I had really wanted to be higher but after the trip am glad where we were. 2 flights up/down got us right to the dock, pool, hot tub, etc. Down the hall and elevator down and we were right by Roaring Forks. Let me know if you have any other questions!

PS - I'm originally from Hudson, MA :p

Crzyforpiglet,

Thanks for the great information:D I was hoping to request a room on that end. It'd be nice to send the kids down to Roaring Forks for a quick snack and not have them have to walk a mile:cool: Was it a quiet location? Did you have a balcony? I LOVE balconies! How did you find the bus transportation? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just SO excited to be staying there!

My sons play Pop Warner football and we always play Hudson! We usually get our butts kicked, too

I'm going to show my ignorance (although I know there's ALWAYS something we can learn) --- I've been going to WL for years and don't know what a 'deluxe' room is. I know about the various views and concierge and Jr. Suites, but didn't realize there was a 'deluxe' category at WL. Please fill me in.

kda,

They've just changed the name of the rooms from Junior Suites to Deluxe Suites. They're the same rooms :D Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse anybody:jester:

We stayed in WL three different times. In 1998 we had a Jr. Suite connecting with a regular room. The suite was on a corner and very quiet. You have a small sink and small fridge which is great to have. You could close the bedroom doors when someone was napping and that was a plus with children.

The best thing was the resort was so compact that you felt comfortable letting your children go up to the room, game room or run in for a refill for a drink on their own.

We loved it there.

Howdy again GLD!!

For the most part the room was quiet. I think our neighbors had a couple of small children so every once and a while we'd hear something from then but not really. The only other "noise" was the boat whistle. Some boat captains blow the whistle everytime they come in and out of dock but not all of them do and not at night!! It rained a lot our week so we were in the room more and noticed it more.

Deluxe rooms have 2 balconies!! A 'standing room' one in the bedroom and a full size one with small tbl & 2 chairs off the living area!

We found the bus system to work well - a little quirky at times but it worked well. Our only snag was waiting 45 min for a bus from DD back to WL but the rest of the time it was 0-10 minutes waiting either at the park or the resort!

When you get to the room be sure to open all the curtains!! Ours were closed when we got there and the room looked darker than it could be. It's true about Roaring Forks - we would send my DH down in the morning to fill up the mugs and he'd wear his PJs!!

Most of all - have fun! It's a great resort!
