I just added a room request to my WL reservation based partially on the info I have gathered here (thank you). Here it is (I realize I may not get all of this): inner courtyard, upper floor, bunkbeds, non-smoking - Does anyone have any opinions on whether this should give me a good view? I am paying for the courtyard view (last time we received a complimentary upgrade overlooking the WLVillas however I wouldn't have wanted to pay extra for that view) Since I am paying for it this time I am hoping for spectacular or as close as possible :teeth:

Thank you, thank you for any and all replies

Hi! We just got back (or sort of) on August 28th. We booked standard, but were upgraded to a courtyard view - room 6145, non-smoking with bunkbeds!

We were able to view the fireworks from the balcony at night as well as the water pagent. The view was awesome. We were not looking directly down on the pool, but a quick head turn towards the right, and we were looking at the waterslide. I couldn't have asked for a nicer room location!

Good luck!

We had a woods view a few years ago and loved watching the fireworks from our room. We had a baby and a toddler so we couldn't stay out for the fireworks, but the view we had made the trip so magical for us.

pirate: We stayed at WL on our honeymoon last November and they upgraded us to a courtyard view that was great. We were in room 5075 (on the lobby, about 4 rooms from the main elevators). The room was located right next to the upper part of the sunrise terrace and our bacony faced the creek, pool, geyser and Bay Lake. I would wake up, wander down to Roaring Fork to fill the mugs, head back to the balcony, read the paper, sip my drink and watch the ducks that would swim in the pool and creek. Very relaxing way to start your day.

I have heard people complain that having a room off the lobby, you hear so much noise from Whispering Canyon that it keeps you awake. While we would hear some noise if we were in the room during the day, it was never deafening and never bothered our sleep.

It's nice, though, when you see WL postcards taken from the lake and you can say, "We stayed in THAT room!"

We got exactly just that. Inner courtyard view, 6th floor, bunk bed, and facing towards MK, so we can see the fireworks (the high ones only) and we watch the EWP. Our room was great! This time, I want to be on the 5th floor so I don't have a solid balcony. I love the courtyard view... it's the best view!!

I hope you get a great view. We are also paying for courtyard view for our trip next month. I want to put in a room request similar to yours. How far in advance should the request be made? Also do I just place the request thru the regular reservations number? Thanks for your reply.

The same thing happened to us last year! We were given an upgrade to CY and it was overlooking the villas. Not much of a CY view if you ask me and if I was paying for that view I would have been quite unhappy. We have a CY view this time and I requested a view of Bay Lake. Let's see what happens. We won't be checking in until 8.30pm on a Friday night. Hope there's something good in the system!

Thank you for all the replies. Hopefully we will get a great room also!

I called and asked to add a room request to my reservation and the CM made a note of it on my record. It does not have to be a certain number of days in advance. I believe they assign rooms four days in advance so anytime before that your request will be noted (hopefully) on your reservation.
