We are booked at WL woods view for 4 nights in November (Thanksgiving Wed-Sun) and have come up with our preliminary itinerary. We are considering upgrading to concierge, but wondering if it will be worth it ($$$ wise). We were planning to do sit-down lunches in the parks and eat breakfast and dinners at our resort (we will do AP one night). Can you make a meal out of the evenign offeings? We aren't big eaters and the bufffets and sit-down dinners are way too much food for us. My concern is that they would not have something at that time for my 5yo to eat. Do they at least have PB and J in the evening?

How is the overall concierge service during busy times?
At WL (specifically) do they have: separate check-in, robes, turn down service, help with PS, water, sodas, juice, coffee during the day?

Any help is appreciated!

This is just my opinion:

I'd try to get it as an upgrade when you check in.

You can book it outright, but I go back and forth on if it is worth it or not to pay full price.

They do have pb and j's in the evening 5-7

Our kids were usually pretty happy with the offerings.

I'm pretty sure you do have seperate check-in. We had kind of a weird check-in, so I'm not sure. You do get robes and turndown service. They do help with PS's and there is coffee out all day. We did not see any bottled water when we were there so you may want to ask.

They did not contact us ahead of time either, like most of the other concierge depts. have done. If you don't hear from them, give them a call. I'm sure you will be able to get their direct phone number from someone on these boards.

They also have lemonade out for a good portion of the day.

I'm not going to say that you can make a meal out of the evening offerings. That subject has been too hotly debated on these boards and there have been a couple of threads this weekend where people are getting really worked up and I don't want to start another one.

You have to decide if you want to book concierge now or hope for an upgrade which is never guaranteed.

Are you planning on trying to use a code or some other discount? This may help in your decision.

Right now we are paying 888.00 for the four nights-woods.

I called earlier and was told the rate would be 350.00 a night plus 40.25 tax. that's 1561.00 compare to 888.00. That's a huge difference. I will wait for the codes and decide. At this point, I don't think it is worth it for $700 more for 4 nights. We have a very nice cooler (that you can plug in) and I think we can manage our snacks and even breakfast for such a short stay.
We really want to do LTT for dinner and Artist Point one night. We also want to do Chef Mickey's for our Ds's birthday, so I am running out of nights here! I didn't know that there were debates going on about this. How silly! I guess some people could probably eat a little from the offerings and then go out to dinner-they would have to roll me back to my resort. Or maybe some are so rich that they can afford to pay for food they won't touch. For now, I'll stay put and turn down my own bed .. at least until the codes come out!

Good idea, I would wait for a code-you may see some good code prices for concierge.

It never hurts to ask at check-in if they have any upgrades available. I've seen on these boards that you should just ask real kindly "Do you have any upgrades available?" and not ask for a free upgrade, which I guess CM's don't like. If you are offered the $30 per night concierge upgrade, I would take it.
