WL August Mini-Meet thread

Hi everyone,

Kristy had a great idea of starting our own thread so we can come to one place and share itineraries, planning and times for a meet for those of us going in the middle of August to the WL.

This way we wont clog up the FAQ thread. Feel feel to post about your plans, dining, and when you are free to meet.

Ill start us off. I am going August 13th thru the 23rd and we staying concierge. WOO HOO. It will be me, DH (Chris) and 2 ds 7(Shawn) and 2 (Anthony).

Our dining plans are as follows.
Sunday the 13th we are eating dinner at Concourse Steakhouse
Monday the 14th we eating at Momma Melrose
Tuesday the 15th we are eating at Yacht Club Galley
Wed we are just doing counter services at AK
Thursday we are eating at Kona Cafe
Friday at Le Cellier
Sat at Alfredos
Sunday at Chef Mickeys
Monday at Yachtmen Steakhouse
Tuesday we are eating at Kona or WCC we cant decide yet
We check out tuesday a.m. and head home

so Kristy what r u guys looking forward to doing the most? I will be doing laundry as well so I will be around for that, LOL. I usually do that while Dh is at the pool with the kids or they relax. We will have more options since we are concierge this time.

The "extras" - which for us is almost everything that isn't park commando style!!

Not this time. I have made ADR's (and tried to change some - what a pain) for the 1st time. I plan on seeing the Boardwalk area, the monorail resorts, taking the Wishes cruise. In other words, we'll take the time and smell the roses and then smell them again.

Wish I could avoid laundry - We'll actually be in FL on the 14th staying with DBIL&SIL down in Wellington for a few days. I plan on using their machine before we head up to WDW, but I don't think we can get by without doing it again.

I can't wait to hear about CL. We stayed at the Royal Pacific at Universal in 2004 on their club level. Well worth every dime!! Perhaps if your trip report sings its praises we'll go for it next time.

So what are your must do's this time? Have you been to WDW often?

checking into VWL, lunch at Tony's, (our APs expire 8/17, I renewed our DDE), back to WL to get room, unpack, pool, out to EpCot at night (have you guys seen British Invasion and/or Off Kilter?)
8/13 Sun - AK morn, Planet Hollywood lunch, MGM night
8/14 Mon - Chef Mickeys brkfst, EpCot, Alfredo late lunch AR, MK night
8/15 Tues - Crystal Palace brkfst 805am, MK, WL pool, EpCot night
8/16 Wed - MGM, Brown Derby lunch, WL pool, AK late night hrs

8/17 Thurs - check out of VWL, move over to AKL (DP for 3 days), O'Hana brkfst - while at AKL not doing parks, lots of pool/relax time!
8/18 Fri - Boma brkfst
8/19 Sat - DH flies down from MA to join us right before Boma dinner

8/20 Sun - check out of AKL, move over to BCV, EpCot, Teppenyaki lunch, Chef de France dinner
8/21 - AK morn, LeCellier lunch, MK night
8/22 - Cape May brkfst, Universal
8/23 - Cape May brkfst (will cancel if we go day before), back to Univ or SeaWorld (Id like 1/2day Univ as I want to go to EpCot Wed night - I think BOTH Off Kilter & British Invasion are sched-I'll definately check on it)
8/24 - SeaWorld, DVC block party, O'Hana dinner
8/25 - MGM, SciFi lunch, EpCot night
8/26 - Yacht Galley late brkfst, we fly back to MA! boohoo (will get ready to make 07s plans by mid Sept)

Phew! next? I think we may need more than 1 DISmeet as some of us are arriving after some of us leave

Well... hello there It will be myself (Lisa).. DH and DD's Courtney age 13 and Jenna age 10. We will be staying at the WL on the CL from the 19th thru the 27th We are driving from Buffalo (we havent' driven since 2001..so my girls are excited). I will see what you all plan and see if I can plan around it..as I don't have any plans set in stone except for our ADR's because of free dining (if it weren't for free dining..I wouldn't even have those! ) We've become "Let's see where today takes us" type of family

AlexWyattMommy too bad I didn't keep my original ADR, it was for 5:30 and I thought my little guy would want to see the parade so I made it earlier.

We definately have to meet up after you've done the Behind the Seeds tour, we have that on the 23rd and I'd love a review!!!

by the time most of you come in I will have already been there several days so the in ams we are at teh pool laundry and relaxing so

Looks like most of the others are arriving later

Im planning on having DS14 at the rope drops Sun-Wed mornings
Last year I was up walking around the resort before Roaring Forks even opened! Then Id take my coffee and put my feet in the hot tub while watching the sun rise.
Also planning on the Electric Water Parade every night at 935pm
I wish Wishes (lol) was at 9pm at least 1 of those nights. Its nice to see them from the Contemp and after get on that boat back to WL.

Kelly - what resorts have you stayed at? WL your favorite? This will be DHs first time at BC and our first time at AKL

There was a DISer who sent me a round tin 2.5" pin last year, lime green that says "DIS newholidayx2 Im Going To Disney". I keep it on my fanny pack (lol, yes I still wear one - this has many pockets, wallet, etc)
