We (6) stayed at the WL in 2001 and were in a deluxe room (4123). It was a great room layout and view of lake and inner courtyard pool, also very quiet.

We just got back from a week at WL. DD5 and DS7 LOVED it! Awesome place to stay with younger kids since you are so close to MK. We actually spent 3 days at MK...and the boat service over to there was great! Very convenient and quick! The pool is great for kids...when we were there, they would let you stand at the bottom of the slide to catch the kids! The resort itself is beautiful and there is lots to do if you want to skip the parks for a day or so! I would definately give a thumbs up for this resort!
I can't help with the room selection because we were upgraded for free to concierge...our room view was just OK, but the service was great so I cannot complain!
If you have looked at the WL website on the disney web..it really looks like that - only better in person!
