WL and WCC questions!

We really want to go see the WL at night during our December trip. Is is feasible to either take the bus or boat launch from MK to WL for a dinner PS? How long will that take? Would we have enough time to come back to the MK, or should I make it a later PS and just enjoy dinner and then explore the WL?

We have taken the boat from MK to Fort Wilderness which is one stop further and had time to go back to the park. I don't remember how long the trip takes once the boat leaves the dock. I would guess about 15 relaxing minutes. The view is great from the boat. Wilderness lodge is fun to see and I absolutely love it but there isn't much exploring to be done.

We found plenty to do last time we decided to explore. If you go outside towards the right of the geyser, there's a walking trail and it was very peaceful when we went in February.

In the evening the boat goes from the MK to the WL and the boat ride is about 10 minutes. To get back to the MK the boat leaves the WL and goes to FW and then the MK for about a 25 minute ride. Maybe it would be best to take the boat to the WL and the bus back to MK.

The best way is to take the boat to the WL from MK. When you are leaving the WL take the shuttle boat to the Contemporary (There are to boats for the WL, one only goes back and forth to the Contemporary, it is only a 2 minute ride, the other will go the Campground first, then go the MK) Once at the Contemporary take the monorail to MK, or if MK has already closed, just take the monorail to TTC instead. That way you can get your bus right away.

We will do the boat to CR and then monorail. We're staying at the GF. Should be an easy ride. Very excited about seeing WL. We were originally booked there, but switched to the GF.
