WL: 2 standard rooms vs. jr suite

Hi all~
We are a family of five. Eight year old twins and a seven year old. We want to try a new resort, but the room occupancies in Disney make it a little challenging. We have styed at CBR, OKW and BCV two times each. We have loved all three. Currently I am looking at Poly and WL. We are supposed to do a split stay at the Poly/GF in 2009 with my mother and brother so I am trying to find another option other than the Poly. We are not opposed to getting two rooms at a resort. I guess CSR and PO are also options. I am not at all interested in the value resorts. CR has never appealed either though I guess I could throw that into the mix.

My main question is currently about the WL rooms. Would you get two standard (2007 prices $430/night) or the jr. suite, which I assume is what is listed as deluxe on allears.net ($485/night). Why would you pick one over the other? Both options are more expensive than the other deluxe standard rooms and even the water view at the Epcot resorts. The jr suite at the WL is more than a MK view at the Poly. I am so confused at this point I'm not sure where to stay.

Personally, I'd go with 2 adjoining rooms simply because you get 2 bathrooms. The fact that the two rooms are less is bonus!

In 2001 I went down with DH, DS and DMom and DMIL

I got a jr suite. It was a nice trip and I thought it went well. THEN after the trip I realized I should have gotten two standard rooms - it would have given us an extra bathroom.

Just make sure you say you need them "connecting" with the door between them - NOT just adjoining.

We have three kids 13, 9 and 6, so the five us cant stay in a standard room anymore.
We love the WL and really want to stay there again.

I am waiting to see if there are codes coming out that would make it cheaper to get two rooms rather the the Junior Suite. I hear the Jr. suites rates never get reduced.

The only bonus I would see to the jr. suite is that you would get concierge service. The services and the food that accompanies the jr. suite might make it worth the price.?

I know sometimes it's easier to make a decision when you can visualize what the rooms look like. It's not as much space as 2 standard rooms and there's only one bathroom. The drawback is, that while Disney will try their best to guarantee connecting rooms, there is a small chance that you may not get them.

If you're concerned about budget and room size, the CR is actually a great option. Wing rooms are pretty well priced and the standard rooms there are the largest on property. Have you seen the room pictures after the rehab? They do look more appealing now I think.

I would definitely get the 2 rooms to have 2 bathrooms and because if there are any special offers at the time of your trip they never seem to apply to suites. If you wanted to spend a bit more you could get a bunk bed room for the kids and a queen or king room for the adults. My kids loved the bunk beds at AKL

We just got back about a month ago from our first trip. We stayed at WL in a Jr Suite. It was me, my hubby, dd6, ds4 and my mom. We didn't have a problem with the space or the one bathroom. There is a total of 3 sinks (double vanity and the wet bar) and plenty of storage area for suitcases. I was very pleased with the suite and will do it again next time we go. The Old Faithful Club (concierge) was great and was used quite a bit. It was nice to come back to the resort, grab a snack and sit are relax after a busy day! What ever you choose, I'm sure you'll have a great stay! Enjoy

I didn't realize that the jr suite was a concierge room. We are planning on getting the dining plan so the concierge offerings really aren't much of a draw. Last time we did the DDp, we were full most of the day. We had left over snacks that we used for snacks for the plan.

Thanks for th elayout. It is easier if you can see what the layout is. Although I have never, ever considered the CR I am throwing it in as a possibility since the price isn't that bad. I'll need to dig up dome pics of the room after the rehab. Are they on allears.net?
