WL '08 AAA rate

Called Disney today around 12:00 to see if i could get a AAA rate on my January standard room - was told it was not available? Did anyone have any luck getting a AAA rate - I can't believe they are sold out already! Would love to hear how everyone else did.

From what I've heard on other sites, the WL is full through the holidays. It's a very popular resort that time of the year.

As a matter of fact, as soon as the packages come out for AAA, I'm booking it for next December.

Well, it is very popular for December, but I wouldn't think it would be sold out for January already. I would call back and try again.

I guess that would depend on what time in January. The first week is still pretty packed.

I already had a standard room booked for January and I called to try and apply the AAA discount. I was told it was unavailable but they did have the discount available for the woods view. I am wondering if they just never have the discount available on the standard view. It will still save me a bit of money so I changed views but I was hoping for more of a discount!

so did booking a AAA woods view end up being less than standard view? if so that would be great

I just got done applying my AAA discount to my January woods view room. It ended up being $212.50 per night.

After tax the woods view was 239.06 a night. Standard view was 253.12 a night with no discount. For our 3 night stay we are saving about $42 over the standard room. It is a $127 discount comparing woods view to woods view. At this point, I will take what I can get!

I got WL standard view with AAA discount for the end of May 2008 for about 278/per night including taxes (summer period dates)

FWIW, I just tried for Jan. 16th-21st at WL, same as other posters have reported, no standard rooms were available w/ the AAA rate. Woods view was available w/ AAA.

For June 12-19, 2008, I got AAA Woods view for $265.50 per night (before taxes). AAA rates were not available for Standard view (regular rates for Standard view were 275.00 per night). So I saved $9.50 per night. Now I'll just keep my eyes open for AP rates.

To add to my previous post, our AAA rates were:
Wednesday and Thursday: $212.50/night ($250/night rack rates)
Fri, Sat and Sunday: $229.50/night ($270/night rack rates)

These prices do not include the room tax (12.5%). Note that Friday, Saturday and Sunday are during MLK weekend, looks like the increase for this weekend at WL is $20/night on rack rates.

We stayed standard view at the WL this past Dec. with a AAA discount. We actually had 4 rooms booked standard with AAA so they do offer it. I was told at the time that they just dont have a lot of standard view rooms period. I booked them a year in advance.

Just got off the phone with Disney and they have no AAA discounts for any views the 1st week of January.

I was told no AAA discount offered on standard rooms. I booked Jan and was able to get woods view.

GrumpynGoofy it looks like we'll be there the same time. I'm booked Jan.20-26.
Maybe we'll see each other.
