Wk of May 18 - WISH Walking/Running Club

Megan - Sorry to hear about the weekend...oops...what weekend? I hope your run tonight is a good one :goodvibes:

Debra - Um, who said the scavenger hunt had to be "responsible"? It's a non-scanctioned WISH event, I'll see to it that everyone signs the appropriate waivers. Sounds like you had a good time in Cleveland, despite the rain...any day filled with wine and ice cream is utopia in my book. Nice to have you back....wait...did you ever really leave? Oh and that 50 state club...hmmm..let's see...is that the club in which you have...OH NEVERMIND....

Um..did some one mention ice cream?

Maura - Have safe travels this weekend..lots of crazies out there for Memorial Day. Nice work fartleking with the dog (not even sure what that means LOL)...sounds like an eventful run...and I know exactly what you mean about the dogs stopping all of the time, mine would take a leak on EVERY mailbox post if he could.

Johanna - Pilates mat! Nice!! I can relate to you...I've wanted beer for nine months in a row too...and no one was pregnant :rotfl:

Tracy
- Enjoy the rest day today!!

Liz - I'm so glad you are ok!! That accident could have been much much worse...take the time to heal up completely before getting back out there again. It's awesome to see you have such a great attitude, that will help speed up the recovery too :)

Pat - Good luck with your race this weekend in beautiful Madison, WI with all of the brats and stuff :thumbsup2 I'd love to participate, but I've got a race of my own to do here this weekend :) (I'm SUPER jealous of that San Antonio clippie in your signature though)

Jen - Mmmmm teddy grahams dipped in frosting!! And homemade Reese's Cups...yum!! Makes me want to get pregnant!! :rotfl:

Kristi - Don't you know those Indiana Jones legos are sparking the intrest to run and explore?? (um...can I have them if you don't want them anymore? LOL!) Hope your sore throat and cough clear up soon :)

Cam
- Are you training for some kind of off the wall 5k or something?? Briefcase walking, Wii boxing, parade route walking, treadmill running...would prove to be an interesting race! LOL

Tricia - Wow! Busy weekend there with all of the house work! Good luck if you do sign up for the race on Monday :)

What happened to all of the posts about ice cream??

Stacie - Ok ok..chop chop...let's get back at it there speedster...you'v e got 5k's, 10k's and a half marathon to train for...geesh ( :rotfl: kind of cool though when you think about it, isn't it?)

Krista - Pssst...come here, got a secret for you...(I think you might gain weight when you are pregnant, just kinda happens)...good luck Thursday at the docs :) Glad to see your bananas dance (and well I might add)! I was born there in Westerville, but grew up in New Concord (read: cornfield next to an interstate)...

Morgan - OH NO!! Can't believe that about the Wii!! They should at least have let you order one as a consolation...don't ya just love running in the rain? I've come to look forward to it every once in a while (but I look kind of silly with the umbrella and galoshes) Good advice about the vacations...think I'll go plan one right now!

Kim
- At least you admit your reasoning for liking Jeff G...I'm a Jimmie Johnson fan, but not because he's cute. :rotfl:

TXAng - Yep Vegas!! Gonna plan on the indoor activities (casinos, shows, gambling, drinks, shows, slots, casinos, drinks) to keep away from that heat :thumbsup2 Awesome job with the 5k! Great photos of the little one too :goodvibes:

Kira G - LOL...those WISH shirts do come in handy at night don't they?

Leana - Not bad, not bad...here's hoping you can put up some big impressive numbers one of these weeks. LOL!! What a weekend!! Great job :)

Duckie - Loving the ice cream festival idea!!

Steve
- Dude...56 miles is just sick. Just when I think I'm some kind of bada**, you post double what I do. Thanks a lot for making me feel like the small fish in the big pool.

Translation for Steve - blah, blah, sick, blah blah, a**, blah, blah, pool.

Did someone say porn?

Big Vic - How's that ankle? Better yet, how's that divot? Fill that sucker yet?

Amy - Sorry to hear about being sick this weekend :( I know you are feeling better today though :goodvibes: It's been a tough few months for you and I have this feeling that the next few months are going to be much better...especially about oh....let's see....7 weeks from now :) Here's hoping for a good week of classes, runs and cross training :goodvibes:

Scott's World - Rest day! Ok, but I'm going to do some pilates and some weights, so it's only a rest day from the cardio. I'd rather sit around eating ice cream and watching wrestling, but that just wouldn't be following my training plan now, would it? Oh yeah...did anyone see what's coming back on June 2nd?? The Mole!! Love that show!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful evening!!

http://scojo15.blogspot.com

Debra: Congrats on fighting through some tough conditions and bad blisters. :( You are a warrior..and I thought you posted a darn good time! Way to go...couldn't wait to hear from you...had you and Dood in my thoughts all weekend knowing it was the big race! Sooo...the 50 state thing...ummm....my mind has thought of a few possibilities as to what that could mean...ahem....care to enlighten me? Assuming it means races LOL. Regardless...any reason to travel is good enough for us! :rotfl2:

Maura: Thanks for asking...I'm feeling great today and taught 3 classes...so back to my old self :). Great job with your unintentional fartlek. Sorry..that just cracks me  . Sorry I'm a little punchy tonight. But seriously..great run! Ahhh...Boston this weekend. LOVE that city...Scott and I got to run there (not the marathon) back in December and although chilly it was so much fun! Enjoy the weekend...even if it does involve moving lol.

Johanna: yay for the pilates mat!! :thumbsup2

Hockey Kim who hearts Jeff Gordon:

Judy, Judy, Judy: HAPPY BIRTHDAY! But I'm sorry you aren't feeling well.

Krista: I had weird cravings...carrots, grapefruit and Outback bloomin' onions. I KNOW. Goodness...can't go near them today. WTH? :confused3

Scott: Ice cream and WRESTLING? Really? wrestling? As in....*eyebrow* Can ya' smell what the Rock's cookin'? OK...so that's a SUPER outdated wrestling quote but still....Wrestling? Ice cream I get. But....wrestling?? *sigh* Thanks for the well-wishes on my food poisoning but I'm pretty sure you knew about it moments after it happened on Saturday...and heard me complain for an hour...and then all day on Sunday. You're a trooper and a saint.

As for me....Food poisoning is gone...feeling much MUCH better today :). I taught 3 classes...scrapped the run due to wind and rain, and those three pesky classes. So tomorrow I teach a Pilates class, take a spin-lates class, teach another pilates class and somewhere in there get a good run squeezed in. Wish me luck! :rolleyes1

Hey Scott, you and I share a rest day?? cool. However, I did end up doing about 20 minutes of pilates.

Also....just a heads up for everyone. I have a massage scheduled for this coming Saturday at 9am. People were upset last time that I didn't share that informatin ahead of time. So, those in need please go ahead and schedule your massage. (I will be looking forward to it, this week at work will be very busy and hectic)

Oh my I am lost! LOL! This is such a speedy thread, I feel like if I don't get in on Sunday I am doomed.

Last week was a blur. I work 15 hours a week for my own job but am putting in another 20 hours a week at the school DH works at while their secretary is on medical leave. I'll be doing this thru June 11th. It is just making life crazy with all the other things going on (kids activities). Last week DH was in Minneapolis for a conference so I had no time or way to get out and run. Today we went out for the first time in almost a week and got 2 miles in. We ran about half of that, walked the rest. I am still stuck on W5D3. I have gotton to 16.5 minutes of running straight but can't quite get the 20 this day calls for.

TXAng: WTG on your 5K!

Krista: With my girls I craved fruit (esp watermelon) and I could not eat chicken at all (and normally I eat lots of chicken). With my son I became a wicked carnivore! Could not get enough meat. It is really funny the things you go through when pg!

To the rest, best of luck with training this week! I am going to try and follow along and post more. To those that individually post, I am in awe of you, I don't know how you keep up! :worship:

Allyson

Debra wrote...Howard: Have you planned a special graduation dance? Or maybe a run down the commencement aisle?

Debra ~ THANK YOU!!! I have no special plans. I just want to make it through this final week of graduate school and then RELAX by marathon training! I am actually running in the Spring Lake 5 (miler) in Spring Lake, NJ Memorial Day weekend... this will be my first post Minnie Marathon run. I am a glutton for punishment.

I have just a few more requirements before I can lace up my Saucony's:

Wednesday:
1. Attend a presentation to an outside client for Corp. Strategy and turn in a 15 page paper on Nike, Inc.
2. Attend Ethics class and listen to 3 or 4 presentations - ask questions and generally look interested
3. Write, revise and edit an Independent Study paper due by the end of the week. I might be able to have this done by Wednesday! :cheer2:

That's it! :cool1: :dance3: :woohoo: :yay: :upsidedow

I think I am close to making a commitment for a race team... still waiting to hear if I am welcome. Training begins with the 5 miler... I am actually going to train for the Marine Corps Marathon in October. [You heard it here first folks!] :rotfl:

:grouphug:

Howard

MLA: Good luck with starting C25K! IT sounds like your first day went well, despite some cramps. Don't let your cat talk you out of it--they're awfully persuasive in lobbying for the cuddle time.

The cat is relentless! She let me escape her early on since I planned on going to Walmart to "get some treats" (shhh! don't tell her it was really vacation shopping) and when I got back, we sat down to watch the Indiana Jones she hopped up onto my belly and proceeded to suck all of my energy out. At least I got the workout in later in the day.

Week 1 Day 2 tomorrow!

Jen - you'll do fine in your 1/2. I don't think anyone ever feels like they're fully prepared for a race.

Scott - Great job on the bike.

Amy - WOW, you were bust with XT. Good job! ar about the food poisoning.

Ms. MightyDuck - Congrats on fiishing your event. DLF doesn't matte. The important thing is that you DID finish! :)

Liz - bummer!:sad2: So sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you're feeling better real soon! Sending some pixiedust: your way.

Jeff - Your girls are so cute. Congrats to DD#2

Vic - Hope theankle's feeling better.

Steve - wtg on the bike ride!:thumbsup2

Leanna - I think I'm tired just reading about your weekend. Great job!

Krista - Glad to hear you're doing well. I can't speak from experience about being pregnant in the summer (or anytime for that matter;) ), but I know both my sisters were pregnant during the summer (at the same time) and I couldn't decide which one was more miserable  Sorry, maybe it won't be bad for you. Stay in the ac and keep cool.
And I think it was you who asked me about Goofy 2009. It's not in my plans. I'm taking 09 off from Goofy and am hoping to work into better shape for Goofy 2010. The quicker I can finish, the less chance for getting swept or derailed by the dreaded blisters.

Judy - Sorry to hear you're under the weather. Hope you feel better soon! And "Happy Birthday to You!"

Cam - Good variety of workouts. Boxing, eh? Remind me not ot get you mad!;) So how was the Wii fitness test. I've been debating whether to get a Wii or not. looking for some input.

Debra
- congrats on your finish. I think you did great. A PR under less than ideal conditions! WTG!

Allyson - I feel the same way about the thread. If I don't check in Sunday, it grows by leaps and bounds! Then it seems overwhelming :scared1: Good luck with 2 jobs. Just check in when you can.

Howard
- Congrats on making it through.:cool1: I know it's been hectic for you (and how you still managed to be "Goofy" is beyond me)!

As for me: I rescheduled my Dr. appt. to Monday to have my ankle checked. Almost cancelled because the swelling was almost gone and it wasn't quite as sore as it has been. But decided to get it checked just to be sure. Get to the Dr.'s office and it's locked up tight. Found out that the receptionist scheduled me for the NJ office instead of the Philly office. :confused3 So, I didn't see the Dr. anyway. I think I'm just going to go with it and see how it reacts to my working out. I have no time to reschedule for this week and next week I'll be in WDW :goodvibes I don't want to go another 3 weeks without getting back into the training groove.
I have a 12 day tomorrow, so my training will resume bright and early Wednesday morning :)

Terri

Things are calming down a little more. Billy nicely planned almost a weeklong celebration of his birthday. It culminated with a party Saturday and hopefully that is it for another year or so. If I ever get the chance, I will post a picture of the cake that he wanted. I think Lynnda out did herself this time and everyone thought it was great.

I did finally get back to training again. I think the official training period for my next marathon started last week so I am only behind by a week this year.

Terri - Hope your ankle gets better soon. Hopefully the receptionist can figure out which is the right office as well.

mla - Welcome, I hope your cat becomes more cooperative in the future. Good luck with your training.

Howard - You can start your training by sprinting across the stage. :lmao: Although after all the hard work, you will probably want to make it last as long as possible. Cam could always tell you that you have to run home afterwards as a way to start your training. ;) If you aren't welcome on your team, you will always be welcome on mine. We have Vic take care of any dissenters...

Allyson - Hope things calm down a little for you. At least there is an end date in sight.

Tracy - "...I ... rest day...I did end up doing about 20 minutes of pilates." Ummm, I think I have a different idea of rest. :lmao:

Amy - Glad you are feeling better. You definately have a busy schedule with all your classes, hope the weather is better afterwards.

Scott - Another person working on thier rest day. I prefer stretching the eyelids and practice relaxful breathing. However for some reason a couple of kids don't want that to happen. :rolleyes1

Debra - Congrats on getting a PR and surviving. Not that you had any choice about surviving because it would have been too quiet without you around. We all know about how much to trust Mike so a figment DOOD could still be possible. :lmao:

Megan - Sorry the weekend workouts were so bad but they do get better and it is better to have the bad ones during training rather than during the race.

Maura - Sounds like your dog is doing better at fartleks than you thought. :lmao:

Johanna - Sorry you didn't get your Fit that you wanted. Hopefully it will come soon though.

Kristi - Glad you had a good time on your trip. Hopefully it wore Zack out a little bit though. When you figure out how to keep them under control, you have to share with the rest of us. :lmao:

Liz - Glad nothing is worse than expected. Hope that everything heals quickly and you are back to riding soon.

Cecilia - That sounds like quite a workout in itself. Hope your hand feels better soon.

Judy - Happy Birthday. You didn't think you could hide it from us did you. WISH has the best spies around. Just don't wear your iPod during races. ;)

Cam - Good luck in getting the controller. Fake money might distract him long enough.

Krista - Yep I had the sympathetic cravings. :rotfl2: Although it was for everything I already liked. I guess I should work a little on getting the sympathetic weight gain off as well.

Welcome to all the new members that I have seen.

Hopefully I can keep up better this week but I am sure that something will come up to thwart that as well.

Bill

Debra I just want to make it through this final week of graduate school and then RELAX by marathon training!

I don't know which is scarier, the fact that you actually said this or the fact that I totally get it! I imagine it will be quite fun to arrive at the start line feeling trained AND rested.

I know you have to be starting to feel almost high from the relief of having this behind you. Isn't it amazing how much stuff they can cram into the last two weeks of school?

Congrats!

Jeff – OMG, that VOG sounds awful! Hope the Queen is better soon!

Amy – OMG, you did have it rough last week. :hugs: back at ya’!

Scott – ROTFL! Just waiting for the shower in my house and had to cut my post short. Not as jealous of the trail for eh moment, as I know it’s too hot for me now. ;)

Jackie- Congrats on those great splits! Keep up that speed work and you will be ptting the miles together soon! WTG!

Mike – I am amazed you got out of bed, let alone did so much working out! :O

Jen – You are so ready! I did 5/8/5 btwn Martian and Minnie and was fine. You are good to go!

Duckie – Cograts on the PR! Just doing a judged race seems like a huge step to me. BTW, my parents aren’t quite on that senior eating schedule, well at least not when they are in MI. FL is another story.

Vic - :wizard: for the ankle!

Liz – OW!!! :wizard: that you heal soon! Not sure I will ever go to clips. Yikes! The scariest thing is that everyone talks about the falling phase. Hello, I can fall without help, thanks.

MiaBanda – Congrats on your first 5K!

Steve? Do we know a Steve? I used to know a Steve, but that Steve would not have just abandoned us for so long. ;) ;) Good to see you Steve!

MLAMegan – For the muscle cramps, I would make sure you are getting plenty of water too. OMG, rotfl! I have had the cat sit on me and suck out my energy many times!

Howard – Woo hoo for being so close!

Terri - :hugs: So sorry things are so rough. Doesn’t seem like you can get a break.

Leanna – Woo hoo for a great weekend of workouts!

TXAng – Congrats on the 5K!

Morgan – WTG on getting those miles in! Woo hoo!!

Krista - :hugs: Not too much longer.

Stacie – Happy belated anniversary!

Tricia – Sounds like great XT to me. Ugh!

Cecelia – Hope you recover quickly and your kids appreciate what you pt yourself through for them! ;)

Kristi – Glad you had a good trip. My brother’s youngest went through a wandering off period a couple years ago. OMG did that cause some stress one weekend at our house. Ugh!

Maura – ROTFL. Perhaps you can put buddy on the TM. ;)

Debra – Sorry the race was less than ideal. It’s great to have a PR in bad conditions, though. Makes breaking it easier! ;) Congrats on the ice cream and spirits!

PoppinsMegan - :hugs: Bad work outs are tough, but usually we can learn from them. Good for you for sticking it out, though! Hopefully, you’ll have some good ones again soon!

Tracy – Thanks for the notification on the massage! I’m afraid I can’t make it, though. :( ;)

Sunday was a rest day and yesterday was over 5 hours in the car, as I was working in our main office. Ugh. While I know some are better than me, leaving at 7 am and getting home at 8:30 pm makes a work out hard. Back to my wonderful gentle yoga class tonight, though, ahhhhhh….. Will make up for yesterday’s missed run tomorrow.

hey everyone..I haven't had time to catch up on all the posts yet, but wanted to check in.

unfortunately, after my long weekend of drinking mojitos and summer shandy's :drinking1 , I woke up Sunday morning with something I thought was the irish flu , but quickly realized it was more like the actual viral flu, aches, fever, stomach distress   DH got it yesterday (on his birthday). I am hoping that DD does not get it.

I am feeling better today. :) i hope to get back to training on Wednesday. I haven't really eaten since Saturday night, so I figure I need a days worth of calories before I get back on the treadmill.

Have a good day everyone!

Morning team!

Yesterday was a holiday for us and it was sooo nice to sleep in for a bit (especially since I had gotten up early both Saturday and Sunday). I got a nice 3 mile run in around the neighborhood. I wanted to head out for a bike ride, but it didn't quite pan out.

This morning I got up early to get another 3 miler in. I was scheduled for 5 but I have a feeling I'll be getting some bonus mileage in at boot camp tonight. I was also going to drive in, but it felt so nice out (and today is the one day that it isn't supposed to rain this week) that I decided to bike in, so I had to cut the run a bit short.

Gotta get back to work, but I'll try to catch up later!

Good morning WISHers!

Hoping everyone is have a great Tuesday.

The ankle is fine. Thanks for the PD. A couple of days of rest does wonders for it. I’ve rolled it so many times I stopped counting. Got out and did bodyweight exercises and core work last night. No problemos.

Amykab – Hope you get to feeling better soon!

Carrie – Have fun at yoga class

FLBill – Stop slacking and get out there and run!

Terri – Hope the ankle heals up quickly.

Mla1977 – Good luck with the training.

Howard – Congrats! :thumbsup2

Allyson – Keep at it. You’ll get’r done.

Tracy’s giving massages. WooHoo!!

Amy – Glad to hear the food poisoning is getting better. I’ve only had it once. Bad egg rolls from a street vendor in downtown Taipei. Never been so sick in my life.

Scott – Divot filled (after being thoroughly sworn at).

Debra – Congrats on the ½! Sorry about the blisters.

Megan – Hope you had a good run.

Maura – Glad to hear Buddy had a great time. :lmao:

Liz – Take care of that leg.

Judith – Happy Belated Birthday! Hope you’re feeling better.

Cam – WTG with the training!

Steve - Has Krista had you on double secret probation lately? Where ya been?

:)

Amy - I'm not following any specific training plan other than my own for the tri. Being it's my first tri...I just want to finish!

Steve - I have heard about the difficulty of figuring out the clips. I also read somewhere to practice against a wall first, then move on to only stopping on grass to minimize the damage of your falls. I think I'll wait until after the tri to look into them. I don't want to still be trying to figure them out and fall during the race. Which, knowing me, I'll probably do anyway!

Debra - I'm only jumping into the tri and 1/2 because it gets me to DL! The DH is not a Disney fan (I know....GASP!) so I have to resort to signing up for a tri and running a 1/2 just to get me there! :lmao:

Focusing on the swim portion of the tri right now since that's my weakest area, so I did a 1/2 mile swim last night and called it a day. I really need to step it up since I only have 4 weeks!

I am in and out of meetings all day (grr!) so just a quick pop in to say hi!!

Deb, congrats on the half!! I was out there running in the rain because I kept thinking of you and my friend Theresa, who also ran the half, and that you guys were huffin' it so I should, too!! Sorry about the blisters but thanks for gracing the streets of our dinky city! ;)

Steve, I'll take the ice cream and leave you with the wrestling. Steroid induced muscleage squeezed into spandex does not do it for me!

Amy, glad to hear you are feeling better!!

Allyson, you'll get there just keep at it. I remember it well, and thinking I'd never ever run the full 20 but it does get easier!

Me.. I reached a new LR distance last night: 3.5mi! I was going to go by the rule of 10% but I work so much better in multiples of 5 :rotfl:

Question for everyone: what do you do with your race bibs? Like the 5k ones.. (because I'd obviously be framing a mary one!). At the moment I have them held up by magnet to a dry erase board very unceremoniously.

Debra

"I ran the best race I could under the conditions."

What a great comment. If only some of us could be so intelligent and mature when evaluating an effort. Running short distances in the rain is usually fun. Running long distances always isn't.

Yes indeed everyone, here is my first check in from Paris. It's 6:33 p.m. here and I am fighting to stay awake until 7 when restaurants open, then dinner and deep sleep.

By the way, does carrying your 2 bags up and down the steps of the RER and Metro stations this morning count as cross-training? I'm afraid at one point when I turned a corner and saw more steps in front of me I said a naughty word rather loudly and lots of people turned around. I think from now on I'll be sure to use naughty french words, so no one will even notice.

That's about it for my coherent thoughts for today.

Craig

Wow, the thread’s moving fast already this week! Just a few minutes to catch up.

Morgan—I used to have all my race bibs sitting on the dresser, but apparently Krista had enough of that because she took them all and said she was going to put them in her “scrapbook.” Which I think is code for, “I just threw them all in the garbage.” :)

Michelle—good job on the half mile swim! Being a pretty weak swimmer as well, I can appreciate just how far a half mile really is. What is the swim distance of your tri?

Vic—glad the ankle’s ok!

Leana—a 3 mile run and then a bike to work? That sounds pretty hard core! Way to go.

Carrie—no, I’m not the one who abandoned you guys for so long. That must have been a different Steve. I would never do that. :)

Howard—Yeah! You’re on our Rabbits Team! So glad that you’re ALMOST FINISHED with graduate school! We’ll have to talk about MCM. I’ll be there, and maybe we can both shoot for PRs??

Scott—wresting, huh? Hmmm, wrestling. That’s nice.

Debra—Don’t’ beat yourself up over not achieving your goal time. Great job on the PR under those conditions!

Ok, I know I missed a ton of people, but I only had a few minutes and we are all apparently too chatty. I’ll never catch up. Stop talking everyone! Stop it! :)

Nothing too crazy to report on the training front. I finally got professionally fitted on my new TT bike last night, so that was exciting. I’ll have the bike back with the new setup by this weekend, so we’ll see if I can go out and hurt myself on it. :)

Hope everyone’s having a good Tuesday!

Steve

Morgan - 2 words. Scrap book. Need another reason to spend money? ;)

Steve - You can't get hurt??? how will you take care of Krista???? ;) So glad you'r enot the one who abandoned me!

Craig - Eat soem yummy pastries fro me!

MiaBanda - You have to step it up from a 1/2 mile swim? :scared1:

Mooshu was just at Disneyland Sunday and Monday (5/18-5/19/08).

She said the weather was hovering about 100 degrees. So for those who ran the half marathon last year, prepare yourself for the same stifiling heat.

I finally fulfilled my hot dog craving last night! Stephen made a Sonic run last night and I got a chili cheese dog and a HUGE cherry limeade. It was so good too. I think the baby liked it too, he was very active after I ate, though he may have been on a sugar high. :teeth:

I have loved reading everyone's pregnancy cravings, I do think that Johanna wins the award for the best craving!! :drinking1

Judith Anne--:bday: Sorry I missed the party yesterday! So do you have tons of music downloaded on your iPod yet? :)

Kristi--Hmmm and to think I was happy about having a boy, I can't deal with the drama and whininess that comes with little girls! I'm glad to hear that you had a good weekend filled with lots of adult beverages. :thumbsup2 Are you still on the job search?

Pat--Good luck this weekend! Make sure you and Jen take lots of pictures of your mini meet! I noticed you have a Princess 1/2 marathon thingie in your sig, but no marathon weekend. Are you and Jim skipping this year. :sad1:

Debra--You have such an awesome attitude about your half. I know I am really bad about getting caught up in times and PR's and if I don't PR, then it almost considered a failed attempted. I need to jump over to the RR thread and read all about Sunday.

Scott--Wresting? Really? I know nothing about wrestling or any other boy stuff for that matter (well except for football--of course, baseball, and basketball), I guess I better start learning! So where exactly is New Concord? It sounds vaguely familiar to me, but I can't place where in OH it is. Is it up in Amish country? Oh, and gaining weight I'm okay with, 10lbs in ONE month is not cool!!!! :sad2:

Amy--I am so glad you are feeling better. Thankfully I have never experienced food poisoning, I don't think I am missing out on anything! I thought you said you were slowing your pace down, I don't think teaching 2 classes, taking a spin class, and running constitutes a slower pace!

Morgan--Don't listen to Stephen, I did not throw his bibs away! Like Carrie, I scrapbook our bibs (sadly, I only saved the bibs from our bigger races, now I'm REALLY wishing I would have saved at least my first 5K bib!). You can frame them, but that will take up a lot of wall space or even just put them in a photo album so they don't get lost or ruined. Also, start having someone take a picture of you before every race, that's a great momento to put on the same page as your race bib. Congrats on hitting a new distance! I'm really jealous that I'll never again hit a new distance, unless I run an ultra marathon and that isn't happening!

Craig--I hope you are having a fabulous time in Paris!!! Have some cheese for me!

Johanna--Definitely have experienced the skin stretching thing, it is not fun! I'm just hoping the stretch mark cream I have been using daily ever since I was 13 weeks helps. I'm not holding my breath though.

Vic--Glad to hear that your ankle is feeling better!!

Howard--Relax by training for a marathon??!! :lmao: :lmao: Your lovely bride does plan on joining you for the MCM, right? We can have a mini meet!

Leana--Glad you enjoyed the day off yesterday! I know I am so looking forward to Memorial Day on Monday! I still can't believe all that you do, you are the WOMAN!!!!

Carrie--I think 5 hours in a car plus working a full day definitely counts for something! Have fun at Pilates tonight!

Cecilia--I hope your hands are feeling better today!

Jen--Good luck on your half this weekend! I think teddy grahams and icing sounds awesome! I eat everything dipped in peanut butter, my favorite being potato chips! YUM!!!

Michelle Bella--I can't even comprehend a half mile swim. I definitely think that's all you needed to do yesterday! Good luck on your tri!

TX Ang--I love the slushies from Target!! I get one almost every time I go too. It's hard for me to buy the cheese and nachos though, Target buys all their concession supplies from my company and I KNOW how much that stuff goes for at cost and how much they are selling it for retail. :faint:

Stacie--Happy Anniversary!

 to everyone I missed! Here's lots of :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for everyone running or xt tonight!!
