Wk Of Dec 8 - WISH Walking/Running Club

Amy:

Hi! Yes, I go to the University of Delaware (Home of the Fightin' Blue Hens) where I have just finished my third semseter of grad school. I am working towards an MBA with Marketing concentration. I graduate on May 31, 2008.

My International Business Cultures Professor was Dr. Diane Ferry. Perhaps that name rings a bell. She was/is a tough cookie giving a lot of homework, postings, tests and papers. I managed a 91 on my research project and that helped secure a B+ in her class.

I can't wait to graduate. I am taking full advantage of my time off and (hopefully) getting into shape (quickly) for the Goofy and dropping a few pounds in the mean time. Unfortunately studying full time and working part-time is not conducive to anything but studying and work.... no worksouts, runs, etc.

I did run in the ToT and have since run in two local 5K events (28:03 / 28:07 respectively).

Have a great weekend!

Howard

Lisa - Ya, if I end up missing this week you guys will know what I'm doing! :lmao: Yuck, yuck, yuck!

I am a wimp when it comes to the cold, but then I was born and raised in Georgia. I actually wish I lived in Florida. I love the heat and being barefoot in shorts. I think I like running in the early summer mornings than braving going out in the cold and our cold is probably like your warm mornings. :rotfl2:

Cool about the skirt. I'll have to go check out the NB store. I have been wanting a black skort, but have held out. So it didn't ride up any?

I'm not sure who mentioned they used Body Glide on their Skirt Sports GymGirl, but I tried it yesterday and I think the shorts underneath rode up more than when I use nothing. Usually once I start sweating I can pull them down and they stay in place. Maybe I didn't put the Body Glide in the right place? :confused3 :lmao:

Oh those masters programs are tough! Of course we got our masters before home computers had hard drives, so I am sure it is vastly different now. I just remember that every professor wanted his papers formatted differently and formatting margins on those old floppy disks and dot matrix printers was not as easy as it is today. I am sure they have new ways to torment students now. Good Luck!

I wish I had known that last night. I was watching the game and discussing the strange choice of mascot for the opposing team. I fell asleep at halfime and never did find out who won until this evening.

So how did they get the nickname?

Hi Team -

Just checking in as we just returned from our week long visit to WDW and the wonders of the Wilderness Lodge. I don't think I will ever get over the feeling of peace I feel when I walk in the door of that place.

The weather was in the low 80s all week and with the exception of the horribly crowded MVMCP on the 11th the trip was fantastic!!!!!! The Candlelight Processional litterally brought tears to my eyes.

It was a fantastic week of fun and relaxation that was needed by all of us. The main thing I learned was how bloody out of shape I have let myself fall into. Way too many hours at work and way too much junk food. I can't believe how awful my body felt most of the trip though. I am resolved to find my way back to the active person I once was. I hope to be back posting my work out schedule and back on the weight loss thread as well.

My best to everyone as your events grow closer. WDW is amazing!

LOL...Howard and Cam...maybe you guys remember more correctly but I THINK that the name came from a particularly courageous Delaware regiment or company in the Revolutionary War...and they were called the Blue Hens. I could be WAY off base...I graduated so long ago that I can't remember the exact story (shameful I know).

Hi Minnie. Glad you had a good trip! We'll be at the Wilderness Lodge in 13 days! :yay:

Well, it is 4 in the morn and so far nobody else in the family has gotten DH's stomach flu. Thank you God!

I need to try to go back to sleep cause I wanted to run this morning, I don't know why I have developed such insomnia in my middle age... :confused3

I'm tempted to eat something, but I'll try to restrain. :rolleyes1

Shan: Now that I think about it, the shorts did ride a bit but no more than regular compression shorts ever have on me. There was no painful bunching or anything and I did not have to fuss with them at all. I tested out the pocket on the right leg of the compression shorts also by putting my iPod in there while I ran (I was watching Grease) and it did not move or even threaten to fall out. I wear long bra tops by New Balance which have 3 pockets in the back with one that zips so I think I will be all set for the half with my hydro pack around my waist. And, before, I said I should have gotten a small but the medium was a little loose and comfortable. I have a couple pairs of compression shorts that really compress ;) and I liked this feel and fit much better. NB also makes shorts called 2-in-1 that have the same compression shorts underneath and I own 3 pairs of those.

I am glad that you all had a discussion about the skirts as I would have never tried them if you had not talked them up so much!! :flower3:
