Wizarding World Location Angers London Mayor

I was reading about this story on another site, and it pointed out that a few years ago Warner Brothers, who own the rights to HP, actually planned to open a $250 million dollar movie themed park near London, but after a long time gave up because they couldn't get planning permission. Maybe that experience put them off putting WWOHP in England?

and this leads to my question..if WWohp was in England who here would make the trip specifically see it?

Honestly, if I ever got to go to England ( and boy that is my dream! ) I would probably would have to pass if my time was limited..after Buck Palace, the Tower, Windsor, Althorp, Harrods, Kensington Palace, etc..and a side trip to Paris to the Louve ( sp? ) . I would rather see real historical sites. If I had time I would, but it wouldnt be on my must do list..and I am a HUGE Potter fan.

In Orlando I swear I heard more Britich accents then American ones, the British go to Florida to vaca so I think they picked a great place for WWOHP.

Publicity Stunt

If he were truly "angry" he would have said something when the project was first announced, not within a week of it opening

Lots of people do it. :) DH was in London on business a few months back, and one day too late I realized that Kings Cross actually had built a 9 3/4 spot...he'd been at KC the day before, and couldn't work his schedule to get back there! Oh we were so bummed.

At least you can still say you were there! It's great because they also filmed the movies there, so it's recognizable as soon as you walk into the station. The 9-3/4 platform is (smartly) away from the actual platforms, but they have a trolley sticking half out of the wall. That was really cool.

I also got the UK versions of all the books in London too. :thumbsup2

OK, I'm so happy I finally get to say/ask this to a bunch of HP book fans: I saw Boris Johnson for the first time when he was on TV representing London at the closing ceremonies for the last Olympics, and my first, instant, immediate thought was, "Oh, my gosh, it's Ludo Bagman!!!" Am I nuts?
