Non-Disney Online Games (Wizard 101) Quest Tips & Help Thread!

Hmm being somewhat clumsy, I have on occasion accidentally fallen into a few fights already in progress. I just apologize which seems adaquate most of the time, but in a case like this is there a way I can withdraw?? Never tried it myself.... I have also been a victim, last night I was on my last breath and defeating my opponent when suddenly 3 wizards jumped in, gah!! Of course I was dead in a heartbeat, sigh...

If I stumble in on a fight by mistake I just try to clean house. I will use shields on the person who was there first and try to be very aware of their health situation and do anything I can to keep them alive. If you leave the fight the damage has been done in that more baddies are coming so there really is no other honorable option.

I try to play on quieter realms personally as I have seen a big increase in the number of people who have been joining and fleeing as of late.

I'm sure most players have done the "oops!" thing and slipped or got pulled into battles accidentally, I have a few times...:rolleyes1 I do apologize and try shielding the 'target', if I can.
Part of the problem seems to be all these new sideline messages to "make friends and help in battles". The players who you know are flying through on other players' efforts are taking advantage of that, and the newer players are doing exactly as they have been told. It's hard to be understanding of the newer players when there is such a growing number of little vultures. It's been bad enough lately that I've even fled battles nearly over, losing all of my HP, mana and credit for the battle.

It is so difficult to FIND a quiet realm now. With everyone starting over I am just trying to plow through as quick as possible to get to Krok/Marleybone and leave some of them in the dust.

I admire your honorable way of fighting, Aengus. That is truly the spirit I believe Kingisle wants us to conjure with the open battles. :wizard: Hopefully this will develop more as we lead by example.

Well I too am tire with the cheats who jump in and do nothing. So I get thier title and I watch and wait. Then I jump in and do nothing either boy they not happy. Problem is most of these kids are on no chat. So you can not say how rude they are.

But I have also notice that one of the reason they might not be doing anything is a change in the hits from the enemy. More often than not if you join a battle part way and at least shoot at an enemy they will target you and leave the lead player alone.

Maybe they could make that a perk of playing member to be able to boot anyone that is not on your friends list in battle. If you started the fight.

My two big complaints so far.

Since the wipe I have had my ice fizzle more than ever. Once I counted 7 pips because my ice snowman fizzled all of them and some other ice cards.

This is getting too frustrating as if I did not have a teamate I would have died many times for cards that do not work. Well I do understand 80% that would be like 1 in 4 not 4 in a row.

Next fighting the bosses in Colossus. Ok so I go to fight the ogar prince and both are ice. Ok I prepare my shields. Guess what all their spells were myth except for one snowman. Now I did not like that. Bad enough fizzle rate is higher than it was, but now you basically rely soley on luck. I would spend a lot of time analyzing my deck to give me the best odds. Now it is mostly luck takes the fun out of it for me.

I think their fizzle rates are off myself. Since the wipe it seems to be out of whack. I have noticed the baddies also suffer from what appears to be a higher than normal fizzle rate also so it doesn't appear to be a disadvantage, more of an inconvenience.

and yes dreamytime I agree it is difficult to find a quiet realm as of late.

To BriarRosie: Julia SummerSong could have been mid-crash, too. I've seen it happen with some other friends of mine. They are standing in front of me not saying a word for quite some time, then...poof! Another issue could be that it was an automatic reaction to click 'reject'. I do it all the time if I'm looking for something or running somewhere. If I see that box pop up, I click 'reject' without even noting who sent it. I'm certain you weren't dissed by a Dis.

I don't think she dissed me, truly. I think she did disconnect. I just thought it was funny that I randomly found her and I couldn't add her. I feel badly if it came across as me being upset. I'm really not.

I noticed that even though I stay on the Falmea realm a lot, there are quite a few people playing on it. I guess the Ambrose realm is getting too crowded for a lot of players.

If you want help doing some of the more tedious "collect X number of bad guys" things, just give me a holler. I'm on the Grand Arena in Krokosphinx now, and I finally got my 4 pip spells back.

My husband's new character is a storm wizard and the fizzles were making him VERY annoyed. Then we decided to keep track of each spell and as it turned out, they had the percentages dead on. Just seems that the fizzles stick in your head longer than the hits because they can cost you a battle.

I would say invest in a lot of keen eyes treasure cards and find a balance friend to throw more accuracy on you.

balance does accuracy?? i thought they do a +% of damage and a -% on enemies

Balance has a card called precision which adds 10% accuracy, but it is only if Balance is your primary school.

Yeah. What I find funny, though, is that whenever I use precision the target always fizzles.

Black mantle, a similar spell, makes an enemy more likely to fizzle.

(Storm wizards also have a spell that adds 10% accuracy to any storm spell)

The worst part about the storm accuracy spell is that it applies to any storm spell, even a shield which is already 100% accuracy. I've submitted a bug report on this in the past and believe that the accuracy boost should only be applied if an accuracy of less than 100% is being applied to the spell when cast.

Also I was merely noting the existence of the balance spell to boost accuracy, although I personally don't typically use it.

For anyone interested in continuing the game via subscription, I did want to mention they have incredible customer relations. I received an email response this afternoon with regards to a foul language/harassment issue that I had reported earlier that those players have been suspended from playing Wizard 101. Although it doesn't quite have the same impact on them today as it would have maybe a week ago :lmao: I was glad to know that steps were taken and the issue handled reasonably well. :thumbsup2

Here is that emailed response:

Oh it is no worries. I am glad to check in on these things. They have been suspended for the time being for harassment and bad language. Do let us know if you see them again causing trouble once their time away from Wizard101 has been lifted.

Thank you so much for your diligence in letting us have the screen shot. We found that very helpful.

I received a response today about the message I received saying I was reported. It's reassuring to know that they are taking the valid reports as well as false reports seriously.

Hi there,

Don't fret overly much, we have a very powerful crystal ball that allows us to see all that occurs in Wizard City and beyond, we can confirm all accusations. The report tool is a very powerful spell that some students haven't quite figured out how to cast just yet. They will be receiving individual tutoring if they are found to falsely cast such a spell. If someone has received the false report, they can be assured that their good name will not be sullied, no action will be taken.

Take care young wizard and resume your studies in confidence!
