Non-Disney Online Games (Wizard 101) Quest Tips & Help Thread!

My favorite minigame is Potion Motion; I find it very soothing after a big battle, and it doesn't take long to fill up the flasks.
Myth/Storm or Storm/Myth would be interesting combos, since the game considers them "opposites" (like Fire/Ice and Life/Death). Often, if you attack creatures of one type with spells from the opposite school, you will get a damage boost.
Woot, you mean there actually may be some sense to this storm/myth combo I've burdened my poor wizard with? (Of course I had to unknowingly pick the two schools with the highest fizzle rate!)

It's amazing though; I never thought I'd get this far. (Level 17 at the moment.) I find I'm enjoying the challenge, especially now that I understand how to use the shields, blades and traps. Maybe the wizard picker knows me better than I think!

Ok just for fun, I timed myself, I got my high score so this is not typical, but this took 5 minutes.

lets start putting some data together :)

and I forget the item I got, but there was a shirt and a treasure card (keen eyes as is shown) in addition to the mana and gold

Potion Motion is my game as well. I have never played long enough to get gold or clothes or spells. Didn't even know they were there :rotfl2: Just fill up my bottles and leave.

I just use Potion Motion and do a lot of random movements. I can finish around 3500+ and just fill the potion to be done with it. LOL

I find it to be the quickest game, but I do like Sorcery Stones for fun.

I use the potion motion to just fill up my bottles but do play the blocks game for fun every so often. Gives money and some other stuff, though the clothing isn't all that great! lol

LOL I do the same thing...

Once, someone saw me play that way and could not understand how I could see all those combinations. I answered it takes a great eye/finger coordination... :lmao:

I usually play conjuration or that dig dug type game... I like sorcery stones too, but that takes too long. Conjuration seems to go the fastest for me... the game below took me 4 minutes..

nice, now that game is paying out mana at a much higher rate! these are the things we need to start figuring out :)

Actually it seems that the game has a score threshold and pays out 'a full bottle' if you get past the threshold for the game. When I play about a minute of conjuration, I get a full bottle which is 328 mana. But I no longer play until I lose, I just play to get to a bit above 2000 points which I know will fill my potion bottle. Also you want to make sure that your mana globe is full before playing mini-game or else you'll end up with one of those 'nearly full' potion bottles that always seem a bit annoying to me.

To any ice people out there who have used these spells I am not sure what the create threat on target does. It seems if you are playing with more than yourself they miss a turn. But using the card with just me playing against two evil beasties I can not figure what it does.

I am also trying absorb. I noticed that it takes all my pips. And when I am hit no points get taken off me. Does it work each round for each pip it it took?

Thanks

I am a Level 20 with only a Mana level of 66, so it runs out pretty quick if I do a few big battles in a row. I should probably be changing my outfit to something else after seeing what levels of mana everyone else has. :rotfl2: I guess the more stylish outfits have a lower mana.

hey whats with shock a lock?

I just found a silver chest and got a shot at playing it, unfortunately I didnt quite get what I was doing until time expired.

how often does this happen?

I have come across a few Silver Chests, and have never won lol. I have only found them in Colossus Blvd.

Game premise: You have to create a connection from the "input" to the "output" (the lock) by moving the tiles around.

Prize: (from the Wizard101 forum) Someone there said, lots of Gold. I have lost and received gold, or gold and treasure card.

Some things I've found out from my few tries:

1. I find turning over all the tiles first help me (be quick about it lol!)

2. You swap an unwanted tile for one you need.

2. If there is an "X" tile, it's fixed and cannot be moved, you have to go around it.

3. Know where your start is and where the finish is, they change for a new game.

What I do NOT know (haven't had enough time to figure it out lol)

What's the importance of the different pieces? (My DH said the crooked pieces make the current slower, beats me).

Is there a specific "start" and "end" piece?

Not sure, sorry. I have though seen the Silver Chests many times, but didn't get an option to do anything. :confused3

- On a side note: Does anyone know what the best outfit for the most health/mana would be? Let me know so I can get moving on up and still be stylin' :rotfl:

Every school will have different items available to them. Just look for the items [hats, robes, shoes, daggers, and rings] in either your backpack/bank or a store that show the highest numbers next to Red (Health) and Blue (Mana) crystal balls.

If you don't like the colors of the items or they're mismatched, go to the Dye Shop in Wizard City to change them to colors you prefer.

When you're buying hats, robes and shoes, you can usually change the color before making your purchase. Note that different color combos will cost different amounts (some more, some less).

Quest Help Needed:

Quest: Into The Map Room
Info: Explore Map Room Platform

Okay, so I see the platform and am in the room, but have done and tried everything I could possibly think of, but it will not count it as 'exploring' obviously. I have stood on the platform, jumped, everything! I have even walked around the whole room, but still nothing.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks in advance!

Luke there are some other posts on this but basically you talk to the guy in the room - GO AND KILL the princes, come back, go away again and kill something and finally you get the staff and come back - note that the first time you bring the staff it "wont work"

This is an instance which means you have to do ALL these steps in one session or start over again.

Good luck - took me a long time to do this one!

The same exact thing happened to me, and I had to restart. How it got fixed was a friend entered with me into the map room together and the quest reset and then I finished it. If you would like some help, I would be glad to help.

Thank you LafChill for helping me in that last fight of Counter Weight West! pixiedust:

If you ever need a hand, call me I will be glad to help.

I still have to do Big Ben so I might be busy in the next day or two... lol
