Non-Disney Online Games (Wizard 101) Quest Tips & Help Thread!

Wow thanks, that is very good news. I have a secondary wizard almost at that instance. :goodvibes

Um, I should have been more specific, just in case someone hasn't done Shiritake Temple yet. If you've already done the WaveBringer (?) part of the instance previously and don't have to summon it, then you don't have to do the lighting of the shrines. Just thought I should clarify that if you haven't done the entire instance before, I would assume you would still have to do the shrines. Much better for those who are farming Oni, for sure!

Thank you! I found him today. I think I was just looking for Father Drake.

Now that all that funess is finished, I am ready to go defeat the big man. Anyone up to helping me with this task???? I can be on whenever. I am so ready to finish this!

TY

I can help with Malistaire most anytime. Hopefully, we can find one or two more who need the instance and have a full group.
Anyone else need the final battle?

I finished him tonight after all. However, I am more than willing to help anyone finish Malistaire. I sure could use that robe! :woohoo:

Head's up! HOUSING has been added to the Test Realm (along with several other features). You can buy places in Wizard City, Krokotopia, Marleybone and MooShu. (Not Dragonspyre -- but who would want to live there anyway???) There are new shops in each world selling furniture items, and some quests now include furniture rewards.

Here's the Metropolitan Manor I purchased (for 15,000 gold) in Marleybone:

There is an outside yard and a pond:

It's going to take a lot to furnish this place! (Wallpaper and floor coverings can also be changed.)

And that's just the downstairs! Upstairs is a hallway and balcony --

-- and another huge room!

There's also an adjacent building with a cellar (but I didn't get a picture of that).

Nice feature: Each "island" has its own World Gate, so you can easily jump to any of the worlds from your new home. (Another new feature allows you to drop a marker anywhere that you can jump to later. That will make returning to quest givers a much easier proposition.)

Jolly good show, KingsIsle! :thumbsup2

Woot! Awesome! I guess I'll have to finally break down and download the test server so I can check out the housing!
Thanks for posting!

Below is a little write up I posted on another forum:
---
The new housing in Wizard101 has now shown up on the test servers.

Your dorm room (given to all players for free) has now been made customizable so you can add furniture. It is still located in Ravenswood, so walking out the door will still put you in that area. This is much the same idea as VMK's room.

Free players can also buy (using in game gold) 2 different "island" styles in Wizard City. For players that have access to Marleybone, Mooshu, Dragospyre, or Krokotopia's Sphinx island there are 2 different islands to buy in each of these places. Each island (including its outdoor area, prebuilt house, and house interior) will be styled like the world you bought it on. The house interiors can/will (have not seen all of them yet) include multiple levels and multiple rooms. The islands you buy will replace your dorm room (they will include your bank) once you "equip" them. Access to your island is via the "Home" icon once they are equipped. From your island you can use the "Commons" icon to visit the world you bought the island on or a portal door to visit any world you currently have access to. I think only friends of someone on your island can access it.

There are items available to add to the exteriors or interiors on your island (I.E. you can get trees / fences for the outside and flooring / wallpaper / furniture for the interiors). Each world has a NPC to buy items from using crowns, a shop to get items from using in-game gold, maybe quests for items, and maybe boss drops of items. The only downside I have seen so far is it seems you can not stand / sit / lay on any furniture so it just takes up floor space and adds decoration to your interior.

Another improvement is they have added a placemarker feature. An example of this is that you just finished a street fight in an area and realize you need to fill up your mana. You can set a placemarker (I think only 1 at a time and it goes away when you return to it), go to "Commons" to catch some mana wisps, and then return to the placemarker point without having to run to it. I would have loved this in Marleybones where street fights are not easy to avoid and (if it works) in instances that you are doing solo or with others that are not friends.

I think only friends of someone on your island can access it.
If a player doesn't have access to a particular world, and a friend has a house there, is it possible for them to visit? In other words, are the houses locked into whichever world they are bought in, or do they become part of a separate "housing" realm for all players?

Having a limit of 99,999 on the gold is really a bummer.

With the addition of the housing stuff, and the size of the houses, I am really regretting all of the stuff I bought, and clothes I have dyed because I was close to the limit.

The castle I bought in MooShu was 40,000 gold. That does not leave much left over to decorate all the rooms!

Fly :hippie:

Am I the only one who can't buy furniture? Is it a bug or just not available in test yet?:confused3

I agree, 99,999 gold is way not enough

I did buy some stuff with my third Wizard. She has the same Island as you. I succesfully put the items on the property, inside and outside the house.

I had only one problem with the newspaper i picked up on Scotland Yard's roof. When i placed it on the ground, is disappeared. I could not pick it up.

I am sorry you have this problem. Did you file a bug report?

I took a bunch of stuff out of my backpack and was able to buy things. I also ran around collecting the free stuff, and farming off bosses a bit.

Now, the problem is, I can't pplace anything in my house. Well, I placed the "Crate of Pies" I got from Baron Greebly, but that's it. Most of my stuff is in my bank. None of it shows up in my furniture window for placement, and i can't get it out of my back.

I reported it and will try again later. Anyone else have this?

I did not put anything in my bank. Everything i was able to place was from my backpack. Maybe you could try to put them in the attic.

I will go see how to put things in the attic, i be back with the answer.

EDIT1: The test realm was reset, we lost our home but got the gold back... Maybe this time you'll have no problem with the furniture

EDIT2: There are some leprechauns in the Wizard City Commons that give 50 000 gold so we can try very house and furniture

I have deleted test due to some computer problems. However the only problem that Cindy has is the furniture only seems to fit on certain walls.

Have not seen the ones in the Commons, but there is at least one in Olde Town right by where you equip your house.

One question before I go to posting pictures, Dear Mods! lol Are we allowed to post pictures from our Flickr site here? I don't want to offend anyone or break rules if I do. ;)

Kim
(got loads of pictures of the Marleybone and Mooshu estates on it) ;)

I am new to wizard 101 and I don't know how to find quests to do or how to buy access passes to areas. Anyone who knows, please help me. Thanks!
