Funny how folks can watch the same thing and take it so completely differently.
He did spend a lot of time with each kid but nothing about it was very interactive and it sure didn't come off as great to me.
Maybe being there makes a difference? What I watched was snooze central

Totally agree. I watched the live stream this morning and found it to be a total snooze, too long and no real engagement. Maybe it gets better as people know the character? But I'm with @yulilin3, why keep dangling these characters people want to meet as just "glimpses" of them (cough pre-MVMCP Judy and Nick cough)?

As Disney is a happy place and to go into the temple, the adults need to be in a dark/depressed state in their lives? I don't think there is a way to do anything with this character that is in character, that involves an interactive element. (I've only seen the movie, not read the comics, don't shoot the non-nerd )

Other thing I don't really get is why these characters can be out, but Enchanted can't. I know that's an original story and the animation is based on the actors playing in the real life part of the movie. But how the characters from Marvel look isn't entirely based on the comics alone, is it? I take the design is also the way it is because it looked right on the actor. Same with Jack Sparrow, why is he there, but Giselle and Edward aren't?

I think in this case there is simply not enough call for them

My friend watched the first few shows today in hopes of getting a picture with him. As she is an adult, that did not happen. I guess the second show there was barely anyone around so she was hopeful to get some interaction but she said he worked really hard to get only kids to go up. Then when the kids did go up they didn't really want pictures. Probably because they didn't know how he was.

This just reminds me of my perpetual disappointment that Jedi Training is kids only

I wonder why not more actors do this. Especially if it's so iconic as Johnny Depp's portrayal of Jack Sparrow. Might not be the case for Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange. To me it was not that special. In the movie I found his portrayal very similar to his Sherlock.

My guess is they will give it a try for a few weeks and if they realize also adults want their picture taken, they might change it. In the beginning wasn't ETWB also meant to only let the kids who participated have their picture taken?

I think ETWB is different based on each show. I've volunteered before to take one of the 'everyone' parts to get a pic. I've been allowed to go up to get a picture with my BF (he is always picked as a knight, not even kidding, I think we're going on 8 straight). Then, depending on the CM or how much extra time there is, sometimes anyone who wants can get a pic.

I do believe in that case Amy Adams had something in her contract regarding how the character could be used in the parks. That's why they only did a short pre-parade for a bit, but nothing else.
