Eat out? I have read on quite a few threads that the price of goods in supermarkets is on the rise and you are now getting less dollars for your pound. So with kids eat free etc.. is it cheaper for a family of 6 to eat out?

Just would be interested to hear your experience on how much it cost you, and to see if we can glean some comparisons?

We always eat out, don't go on hol to make meals but depends where you eat.
Just paying my credit card from Xmas we ate at Sweet tomatoes(one of our fave places for good cheap food), had vouchers off internet £5.13pp for all you can eat & drink
If you like Pizza you can eat & drink at CiCis for about £4pp
But goto other places and you could pay £40-50pp
Most expensive we had at Xmas was Boma, £26.03pp
These are all adult prices

Thats whats so good about Orlando, it caters for everyone. From about £5pp for a good buffet upto about £100pp to eat at places like this http://allears.net/menu/menu_va.htm

Totally agree you can be as expensive or inexpensive as you like :) We are trying Victoria and Albert's for the first time in 4 weeks time and that will be expensive but as a one off it will be more than worth it.

Claire ;)

Not something I would pay for but I am a tight fisted Yorkshireman. If you have the money and something you want to do then why not,?
My Brother often eats in places at this kind of money, also fly business class most times, I think he's a little mad and gone soft since moving south but his money his choice:rotfl:
Hope you enjoy V&A.

Hi Liesa - Good question. I think it depends where you eat out at. When exchange rates were about $1.38 per pound, I really felt the price sting in the Disney restaurants but it won't be too bad in the offsite places - still cheaper than the UK.

I'm certainly going to be eating offsite more this time, so long as I still get to go to Chef Mickey's and California Grill. Not sure if I'm going to do Victoria and Albert's this time though. It's an awesome experience but last time I ate there we were getting £1.88 to the pound. And I'm not sure if I could persuade my husband to wear a suit in WDW in June.

depends where you eat of course, if you do not have alcohol with a meal i would suggest you can cut the bill in half, also share a starter between 2 adults, we always do, they are normally too big for one anyway, eg. a starter of buffalow wings at Nascar in city walk is approx 10 dollars, it comes with 10 large wings, dipping sauce, celery and carrot, far too much for 1 IMHO.
We have also been known to share a main course, fish and chips in Finnegans at Universal,$12.95, we told them we were sharing and they split the portion into 2 plates, no problems or questions asked. Rack of Full rack of ribs with frys and coleslaw at Tony Romas, made for sharing
Also take any leftovers home in a box for lunch the next day. It is common practice over there.

I have had servers look totally insulted if I have refused a box.

Just gone thru my pics from last August, I knew there was a pic there of me on the bed in hotel room with a box I had taken home from Texas roadhouse but had a look and and its not a pretty site, I have no top on:lmao: so won't post it:)
