Spurred by a local civic group called the HoHoKams, the Chicago Cubs pack 'em into HoHoKam Park, largest of all spring training facilities (cap. 12,500). No matter how the Cubs do in the field, they often lead the majors in spring attendance.

Go Cubs!!!! Think summer.

And may the best team win the Super Bowl in a couple weeks, congratulations to both the Carolina Panthers and the New England Patriots. :happy1:

I can only speak for myself- but being a New Englander - I am just living in the moment and enjoying the Pats right now. I will not let my self get depressed and start thinking about the Red Soxs!

My DS9 has tryouts for baseball in Feb. Practices start in March! My husband is currently in withdrawls until bb starts. He has taught our 20 month old to hurl a ball across the den.

I really have no interest in the Super Bowl this year with Carolina and New England playing in it. It is going to be a tough sell for everyone other than the east coast to watch it this year.

Being a CWS fan and they did nothing in the off season to improve themselves I am not sure if I am ready for baseball. But I am ready for spring.

Dan, I always hated when the Cubs played at Hohokam, a traffic nightmare. But the city enjoyed the financial benefits, as does the whole PHX area, there are a lot of teams in the Cactus League. I read a rumour that the Orioles may be going out that way, at least I think it was them.

As a matter of fact, I just ordered tix for 2 spring training games for the Red Sox for my parents this AM. They stay in Clearwater area for the winter so they'll be visiting the Blue Jays park as it appears the Red Sox home games are sold out - what a surprise!
