With little ones, better to sched FP or ADRs from 11-1

We will be going with a 20 month old in October. His naps are somewhat unpredictable now, but he usually naps around 11 and then again at 4. Both for atleast an hour. I don't plan on going back to the room for this. When is the best time to schedule our FP? Before his nap? I'm not sure I want to schedule it in the afternoon. He's an early riser, so we will probably get to the parks early anyway. We will be eating breakfast on the go most days too so I wanted to do an early lunch. But again I run into the same problem. Any opinions? Thanks.

I wouldn't schedule them before 11 because lines are low then anyway. If you want him to be awake for them I would schedule at 1, 2, and 3. Although you shouldn't get TOO attached to the perfect plan because his nap schedule will likely not be the same as it is at home when he is in a place as exciting as Disney World!

I think it depends. If the FP are for rides the child can't do, then naptime is perfect (as long as they can nap on the stroller). This way, they aren't "stuck" needing to be entertained while the parents do a baby swap.

As for meals, we generally tend to book them for times we usually eat at home. So in your case--11/11:30 would have been meal time for us. So our FP would then be planned around that.

When we had kids that young, and early risers they were--we focused our morning on kid activities and then saved baby swap rides for after lunch. The child would either nap or play in nearby areas when possible. Or enjoy a snack. Or whatever we could find.

We are scheduling our FP early. 10, 11, and 1, with lunch at 12. We figure that this way we can get a 4th FP or more before we leave parks for the day by 4-5pm.
