It is with great sadness and heavy heart that i have to tell you all that at 6.30am this morning Sprout was put to sleep.
Two weeks ago after another bout of bladder trouble they done bacteria tests, results received last week which showed clear so the vet was certain that it was a growth or tumor and last Friday she started a course of steriods. Over the weekend she perked up, but last night i noticed she was hunched up and looking not so good. Unfortunatley at 5.30 this morning she was trying to wee but was screaming in pain, phoned the emergency vet and rushed her straight over there. I knew it was going to be the end then because she was howling in pain all the way there where as normally she loved going for a ride in the car.
By the time we got there she had started to bleed and the vet agreed that it was time to let her go. She didnt put up any resistance and was purring to the end and gave me a little nudge on the hand with her head before she died peacefully with one last sigh. By this time i was in bits but the vet was fantastic. I am having her cremated and her ashes put into a wooden casket.
I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your support and kind words over the past few months.
I will miss her dreadfully as she always kept me company in the computer room and she had been with us for nearly 16years.
Rest in peace my precious one.
