I think wheather or not you grew up with this or not.
If you have kids...you need to talk to them about guns, gun safety.

because if you do not have them(guns) someone you know does!
and like drugs, smoking, drinking.........

KNOWLEDGE is KEY!

so give the "talk" what to do what not to do If they should stumble apon one!!

and my kids and grandkids have always known that we hunt during November....Main thing is to make sure during the rest of the year that the guns are stored in safe areas.........our guns are in a place that even my kids( 35 and 32 years old now) didnt' know where they were........the clips were put in another part of the house well hidden and the bullets are someplace else....always put your accessories away from the guns....I have never been nervous having guns in the house .....taking proper care of your guns is the way to do it.. Now as far as using them to protect ourselves.......would never happen.....would take a half hour to find the stuff and get it in one common area

Remeber to keep bullets locked up, too. They can be just as dangerous. Take it from someone whose friend thought it would be a good idea to hit one with a hammer back in middle school Blew his finger partially in half and it was only a blank!
