With all the BAD reviews, do you think they will....

alter the Stitch Encounter? We are going next Oct and have been looking forward to this new attraction. From what I've read here on the boards and on Deb's site, better than 80% of the reviews have been negative. Does Disney survey guests about new attractions? And if not, do you think they have gotten wind of people's disappointment?

I think they monitor opinions on attractions. Whether or not they choose to do anything about it is anothernsubject. They will tweak an attraction to improve audience approval, but how much they can actually change it is another matter.

we saw a preview of stitch on 10/31 and as soon as we came out a CM asked me what i thought of it. i was very honest and polite while i vioced my dissappointment. i was sure most of the people felt the same as i did. they probably were asking for some type of "exit poll" for a reason. if so many people express the same opinion i don't see how they can keep it as it is.

Severe guest disappointment resulted in an alteration to Journey Into Imagination after they tried to make it over.

Whether or not the same thing will happen to Stitch remains to be seen.

But I think they will take things into consideration.

If you don't like Stitch, stop at Guest Relations, and let them know. (But don't just bog them down with negativity! Tell them something they did RIGHT, too! ;) )

I don't know about general guest feedback, though I do recall an instance when a VIG's feedback (supposedly) resulted in a dramatic change to an attraction particularly pertinent to Stitch.

The attraction was Alien Encounter and the VIG was Michael Eisner.

We saw a soft opening of this during MVMCP back '94. The preshow with Skippy and SIR, (or whatever he was called at the point) was voiced by Phil Hartman, was actually cute. The show was good but significantly different from the final iteration.

Apparently, Mikey came to see it some time before the "official" opening date, felt that it wasn't scary at all, and sent the Imagineers back to the drawing board.

The second interation was vastly different from preshow to finish. (If not in major story elements, definitely in tone.) The preshow itself, with somebody new (I can't remember who) doing SIR, became omenous and the scare factor of the show itself was ratcheted up SEVERAL notches. My wife saw it once after the revisions (summer '95) and that was enough for her. We had been waiting in line with a family and told them that the last time we saw it we didn't find it particularly scary. I sat next to the little boy--at one point he reached over, grabbed my hand, and didn't let go until it was all over. I rode it after that with my BIL, but my wife was done.

So there's certainly precedent for dramatic revisions between soft openings and "official" openings--and even with that particular attraction building and system.

As for the Michael Eisner story, I don't remember where I heard it....it could be a myth. But I know he was there when we were. We saw him talking to
Arnold Schwarzenegger at the Beach Club. (Arnold was there for the opening of Planet Hollywood.)

I believe you are correct about Eisner's involvement with changing the direction of Alien Encounter before it officially opened. By the way, the voice of SIR was changed to Tim Curry.

To seeing Stitch on my upcoming trip and will form my own opinion of it.::yes:: :wave2:

I'm sure that they've gotten plenty of negative opinions on the Sounds Dangerous show at MGM and I don't know that anything has changed with that... (I think they should at least change the name to Seems Stupid ;) ). I'm assuming that Sounds Dangerous is still there--I try to avoid that building. :teeth:

What are the main negatives of the attraction?? Or positives?

It is JUST like AE but with Stitch. Better for kids, but really not anything new, wonderful or imaginative:)

I doubt they will rehaul the attraction this early in the game. JIYI was around for awhile before they rehabbed the ride. My dream is for the Alien from AE to come back and eat Stitch ;) Then they can combine the old with the new
