Is it just me or am I the only person that bursts into tears the second I enter the Magic Kingdom? Just standing on the threshhold of Main Street and seeing Cinderella's Castle up ahead reduces me to a complete emotional wreck. I cry because I am so happy to be in the happiest place on earth and it overwhelms me that after all the saving and planning and hours of travel time I finally made it there. Also, it gives me such pleasure in realizing that I am able to make this magic happen for my daughter. I'm a single Mom on a very limited income but having never been to Disney as a child, this is one splurge I am never going to do without.

We had our 2nd trip this past October and I can't wait to go back! I love reading trip reports here on the boards. Even then I get wishy-washy. So is it just me or do others share this happy affliction?

p.s. This is my first post. Yes, I am a newbie!

Well, I'm not quite a Wishy Washy Disney Mom but there are some occasions that I can become a closet "Wishy Washy Disney Dad" For instance, my aunt passed aways a few years back, we frequented WDW together numerous times before her passing and It's A Small World was her favorite, I've ridden thsi countless times with my wife and son and each and every time I ride a get a bit misty eyed simply thinking of my aunt. Also, WISHES gets to me as well. I look at my son and realize (as I do often) how very fortunate I am to have this time to spend with my family.

You're not alone. I get the same way. I also get emotional when I see those expressions of pure excitement on my kids faces while we are there. They have the time of their lives while we are there. Neither my husband or myself had gone as a child and it is something that we are proud to be able to do for our kids. We leave in 10 days so the excitement around the house right now is through the roof!

I'm with you. And its just Dfi and I when we go. I can't imagine myself when I have kids. I will be crying the whole trip!

I cry when I get there, :sad2: little bits of tears hear and there the whole trip, parades, character meals, packing. :sad2: Oh yeah, packing, that means the last day. As a routine, last day is spent at MK, :sad1: DH says thats the day I'm emotional wreck.:sad1: Watching the fireworks at the end of the last night:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: forget it, all is lost. Next trip will be our first as DVCer's and I'm hoping since I KNOW we'll be back it won't be quite as bad.

If you need a good cry now, there's an excellent trip report :thumbsup2 about a mom and 155 high school girls on a band trip to DW. Love it and can't wait for her next post!

LuvsTig, are you my long lost sister?

I am also a single mom to a 4 year old girl. I have our first Disney trip planned for 8 days this coming September. After a very traumatic divorce, the road has not been easy for me, and our Disney trip was a goal I set for myself. I have poured my heart into planning it, and I am proud when I look at the layout of our time there. I have been thinking about the upcoming trip, and how I am CERTAIN I will come to pieces when we stand in front of the Castle for the first time. I want to see the dreams unfold through my daughter's eyes, and relish in the milestone that could quite possibly be one of the greatest achievements of my life.

You are not alone. princess:

You are not alone with the tears.... I am usually ok until I actually get into the park. I feel like I live in my life in an emotional pressure cooker. When I see the castle, all of those adult cares are gone in an instant. I think that is why I cry....

I'll be bawling my eyes out n saturday!:cool1:

I'm going with my best friend and her family-I am finding out she's not as commando as I thought

I will have to spend ALOT of time alone with my awesome child that has down syndrome-and i get to have him all to myself-my other kids are staying home-can't take them out of school--no other kids to get jealous;)

don't think I am mean-we just went in august-this was a spur of the moment thing and my dh told me to go

I'm a crier any way but I am sure I will be bawling once I get to the world. I cry just thinking about it.

You are not alone!!!!! I cry every time we take the kids! Do you know how hard it is to take a picture of your child with his/her favorite character and cry at the same time?!? When we took our DD9 for her first trip when she was almost 3 her picture with Cinderella is worth a million dollars to me!! Her facial expression was just total awe!!! Those pictures are priceless because you just don't get that anywhere else!:cool1: I'm crying responding to this thread right now!!!!! I have always tried to hide it before, but not anymore!!! I told my husband the other night I wasn't the only person who cried when they entered the MK or anywhere else on the Disney property. It is the most magical place in the whole world!!!!

And here I thought I was the only one who teared-up all through the World! It's nice to know I'm in such good company...sniffle, sniffle!! :goodvibes

i get teary eyed every time!
i think because it brings back all the memories of past trips.
we were fortunate enough (with the help of grandparents) to take our kids almost every year since they were born.
my oldest dd is now 27 and planning a disney wedding for next year! my youngest ds will be 17 this trip and still grabs my hand and runs me to the next ride. brings tears just writing this!!!!!

And I haven't even been yet:goodvibes ...I get teary eyed just thinking about it. I feel so lucky and blessed to be able to take my kids to Disney, and I know that I when I hit Main Street, I'm going to be a mess....

Tearing up now as a matter of fact, oh yes, I'm wishy washy ;)

Hello, My name is Jennifer and I am a misty-eyed Disney fan.
The first time the tears rolled down my face as I stood in front of the castle, I thought something was wrong with me. I am glad to know that I am not alone in this experience. I think it's Tink, pulling our heart strings.
