Wishing I was going to Disney instead

I just finished making all of my reservations for Spring Break this year and for the first time in about 6 years, we are not going to Disney (I am four months pregnant and I told my family if I can't get on Space Mountain, no one will!! LOL). We are heading to Clearwater Beach instead and spending the week on the beach relaxing. I just realized how inexpensive Disney is compared to other hotels outside the Orlando area. I was looking at an OK hotel on the beach and was quoted $220 a night, I kept thinking for that kind of money I could stay at a deluxe at Disney and know what wonderful service I would be receiving. I will miss Disney this year, but am already planning for our next trip with our newest addition to the family for next year!!

I like to travel to many places (as long as I get my Disney Fix) but whenever I go anywhere and am in vacation mode, I ALWAYS think about Disney...maybe that's why we're on these boards all the time!!! Have fun in Clearwater (you're not far if you get the urge!!!)

I know how you feel because I rather go to Disney than anywhere else. But I'm sure you'll enjoy some relaxing on the beach, especially if you couldn't enjoy all the Disney attractions. You can plan your next trip and how nice it will be to have your new baby with you.

Clearwater is great!! We've been there a couple of times. Just beware of the big "magnet", anytime I'm anywhere in Florida remotely close to Disney we always end up there!! LOL!!

Me too, I wish we were going to Disney this year, but we are going to the beach, here in Maryland though. We are sharing a house with relatives/friends so it will be fun and also less expensive than a DW vacation. But I am trying to figure out someway to get to Disney next year I need my fix!!

I know the feeling. We were just at WDW in Feb. DH doesn't like to go each year so next year we're off to San Diego (any tips anyone?). Last time we waited 3 years between WDW trips but kids and I already told DH that were going back in 2004! He said "OK".

Clearwater cetainly isn't to far to drive over if you get the urge! I'm sure you will have a very nice time there though.

I know about wishing you were at Disney though. We like to vacation elsewhere also especially ski resorts but it is always WDW that I want repeat visits too! My DH said every other year for Disney now that we have DD, but she is already Mickey obesessed at 18 months so I've talked DH into an upcoming fall visit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hooray!!!! Just hoping for some good codes!!
