This is the kind of thing that makes me crazy. So what if there's no point? Make the guest happy, put the note on there and MOVE ON. If the note has no effect, then you're not losing anything by making the guest happy. It's still luck of the draw whether things work out. At least the guest feels that you've tried to get them what they want. Why fight the battle, create a nasty situation and potentially lose a guest's business?
WDW is going to need us locals to continue to come over for dinner and to spend $$ in the parks. Bookings are down, people aren't making the "big trip" to Florida. Keep us happy and at least you'll have our $$ to count on.
Don't get us started on the whole "keep the locals happy" thing. WDW doesn't care one whit about us. All they care about is tourists with kids. If they truly wanted my dollars, they wouldn't have been so eager to turn their backs on the nearly $12K a year we USED to spend at Downtown Disney because the Adventurers Club was there. But I'm not their target demographic, so they just don't care.
