Does anybody have any advice on where to stand/sit for Wishes? And how early should we stake out a spot? This will be our first Wishes show. We will be seeing it on 1/23/05.

Thanks! :flower1:

hi there! :)

I like to stand just at the end of where the stores are at Main St. Just beyond the Ice Cream Parlor. I found that if you are too close, you miss many of the low level fireworks behind the castle. If you have to stand farther back you are ok too. I just love seeing it from directly in front of the castle. I know many love it off to the side between the Hub and Tomorrowland. I've never seen it from there though.

One thing I loved about Wishes was that it wasn't necessary to stake out a spot all that much in advance. You can, of course, and others can probably provide good strategies, but we love just watching it from the middle of Main St. We've also seen it from Tomorrowland Bridge which had the advantage of seeing Tinkerbell's flight from the castle toward Tomorrowland.

I agree with civileng68 that up-too-close is not as nice. And though the music and soundtrack are WONDERFUL, we even enjoyed watching the fireworks only from Gasparilla's at the GF. Wishes is not-to-be-missed. You will love it!

We've never been in front of the castle to see them, but plan to try on the 23rd. Maybe we'll see you there. Can't wait!!!

I think a straight on view of the castle is best. We watched from the train station, and that was pretty good, but the lights from the surrounding buildings were distracting. I think next time I will try to be in the middle of Main Street around the ice cream parlor. Definately don't get to close to the castle. The first time we saw it, it was so crowded we were forced to watch them from the castle side of Cosmic Rays, and I can say this has to be one of the worst spots imaginable. By the time it was over I had a crick in my neck, and some of the visual effect is lost if you view it from the side.

Both the Tomorrowland bridge and anywhere in that area between the icecream parlor and the hub are favorite spots for us.

You're going to have a great trip- and it's so CLOSE!

Great point! I forgot to mention that! If you do decide to watch from Main Street. Remember that they do not turn the lights off on the shops on main street. It stays lit as normal. They will shut them off for spectro. and then back on during Wishes. it is VERY distracting.

Get beyond the lights, which is the Ice Cream Parlor, but not much closer.

Also I agree that even though it gets crowded, you dont need to stake a spot out so early for Wishes. Its a BIG show and any spot in front of the castle is good. Just walk up before the show and stop.

We have watched most times from the Tomorrowland Bridge and it's true that you don't have to stake out a spot early, which is one reason we like it so much. One time we walked over to somewhere in Frontierland....I wish I could remember the exact spot....it was quite a unique view....like up close to where they were shooting off. It was very neat.
Of course, the best for us was from our balcony in the Contemporary!!!!

We watched it for the first time on Main St., right by Casey's, where the shops end. It was a perfect spot for seeing Tinkerbell !! :D

I've seen it all over the park. You've got to see it at least once down Main St. You don't need to stake out a spot. Just stand in the middle of the street when it starts. Everybody just stops and watches. Also, it's different by the carousel, behing the castle. The fireworks are popping in all directions around you and it's fun watching where they are coming from as well as watching the crowds heads turn as each firework pops.

We were in the Magic Kingdom the week before Christmas and Tink did not fly. Does she not fly if the temp is too low or the winds too high? If was cold that night and a bit on the cool side.

I really enjoyed the view from the bridge to Tomorrowland.

I just saw it the other night (on my honeymoon) and we sat in the Rose Garden. We could see everything and it wasn't terribly crowded. The walk towards the exit wasn't horrible, but I'm also a big fan of staying and shopping until I get kicked out. ;-) Another thing...we could hear EVERYTHING on the stereo system.

It could actually be several reasons:

Yes, if the winds are too high they will not fly,
In some cases if it rains she wont fly, or in storms

Also, just a guess...........I figure they probably only train one person to probably do it. If she called in sick, who knows.

From the observation deck on top of the Contemporary after a fantastic dinner at the California Grill. :smooth:

Here's a suggestion that's a little different...

Get in line for Dumbo about 15 minutes before Wishes is scheduled to start. If you are lucky you'll be riding Dumbo as Wishes is underway -for at least part of the show. This accidentally happened with us last trip, and it was wonderful to ride Dumbo with 7yo DD as Wishes was going on.
