Hi guys,

I'm looking for some ideas please.

We have watched wishes from the park many times and also from the CG. I have previously been advised that we could have a meal at the Poly and watch from the beach but given that DH is a bit fussy, I dont think he will like any of the menus at the Poly.

We have not stayed onsite and am unsure of the hotel locations, so was wondering is there another Disney hotel we could have a meal at and then walk to somewhere like the beach at the Poly or another spot to watch wishes from?

Can't get any dates for the dessert party, any other ideas? We do have AP's so would we could have a meal at MK but wanted to avoid the Easter crowds.

Thanks in advance and sorry for typos, I'm on my iPad!

What type of food does he like, Kona cafe has a varied menu.

Do you really want a meal or just see Wishes? you don't have to eat there, just go watch the fireworks after eating elsewhere or watch from the ferry boarding area at the TTC

Hmmm I think you have summed it up Wayne. You might remember DH is not a great fan of Disney restaurants so we just want to see the fireworks!!

I can't seem to find a map online of the whole of the Disney area to see where the TTC is?

If the girls liked the idea of watching from the Poly beach would that be possible if we have not dined there?

Thanks Wayne.

You can go look around any of the resorts without eating there. Though personally I wouldn't go to the Poly without calling into Capt. Cooks for a Dole whip:cloud9:

The other location I suggested is the Ticket & Transportation Center.
Where you get onto the ferry to get to MK, view is as good as the Poly Beach. You can see from this pic I have done, Poly beach to the left I have put a red line around the area you can stand to watch Wishes.

Just so you do not rule out the dessert party if you are truly interested, the dates for that time period haven't opened up yet for any reservations. Presently, people are still waiting to make January bookings for the party. So that could be an option still for you. If you are going in March, I would start checking in early January for reservations to begin for the party. There is a thread you can follow and people post when reservations begin for another month period.

Maryess - I presumed I had missed our dates as they are showing in the dining resevations calendar but with no availability?

Wayne - dole whip? Presume it is an ice cream? If so ice cream, beach location and wishes sounds spot on! I can feel a plan coming together!

Thanks for all your help :goodvibes

Yes Ice Cream, you can get either Pineapple Dole Whip or Vanilla (or a mix) they give you a dish to serve yourself, if you have the skill you can make it high enough to share.;)

Refreshing Pineapple Dole Whip - Self serve refreshing Pineapple Dole Whip - $2.89

Absolutely brilliant - thanks so much Wayne :goodvibes

We don't make too many plans/reservations these days but I do just like to have a couple of 'disney ideas' up my sleeve to surprise the clan with, they are going to LOVE this one

Thanks for your help :goodvibes

Yea, that is really misleading. I wouldn't have known about it if it weren't for other helpful folks on these boards. First the dates appear on the calendars with no availability, then magically one day you actually get a reservation. I tried every day for a month. The day I actually got one, I had checked at noon and nothing. Then around 3pm I could choose any date I wanted. Strange system. Even the phone cast members can't tell what day reservations open... until it happens. :confused3

Whatever you decide, I hope you have a wonderful night!

We watched the fireworks from the beach at Poly a few weeks ago and there was the added bonus of the water pageant too - we'd not seen that before.

We didn't eat there we just caught the mono rail and got there about 15 mins before Wishes were due to start and walked onto the beach

It was very relaxing sitting on the beach in a swing chair watching Wishes but I have to say our DD's just ignored them and played in the sand! :goodvibes
