Certainly it's pretty slick to see it from that perspective. Of course the timing is tricky.

I did this by accident on my last trip. It was awesome!

We booked a FP+ for BTMR at 10:00pm. Fingers crossed we hit it right, going to utilize the 15 minute grace and show up around 9:45ish...

We do this and love it. It was especially awesome during the not so scary halloween party, and the xmas party days. They had fireworks 180degree circle.
It was just awesome!

There isn't a 15 minute grace period at the beginning of your time window. The unpublicized, undependable grace period is at the END of your time window.

In my experience the grace period at the beginning of the window is 5 minutes.

We were able to experience wishes from BTMRR completely accidentally. It was very cool. We rode IASW right after and there was debris from the fireworks on the ground in fantasyland.

We did this once by accident too. It was absolutely amazing! just as we were about to go through a tunnel the fireworks seemed to be right above us. It reminded me of the commercials for Disney. It was the most magical moment I've ever had in Disney.

If you can time it, do it - we managed to do this on our last 2 trips and it really is very special. Completely accidental discovery for us...

Worth mentioning is how fantastic this ride is in the dark generally. so much more intense at night, and the special effects really come alive.
