We'll be in MK next Wed. for my b-day :cheer2: and are planning to see Wishes and Spectro however that night they are showing Wishes first. I'm a huge Tink fan :tinker: and usually try to watch Wishes from the Main Street area so I can see her fly overhead. Do you think that if we are on the bridge to Tomorrowland that we should just hang there and move closer to Main Street for Spectro or venture back to Frontierland? We are def the type to just hang around after all the activities to let the masses leave the park first. I'm guessing we'd have enough time to move to Frontierland since it ends back there and if we go through Fantasyland we should be behind the crowds? What would you do? :confused3

1- That'll work just fine.
2- That'll work, too.
3- That's what we do.
4- Yes. I would not go all the way around Fantasyland, however.
I'd go back via Adventureland, and use one of the "Cross Over" points shown on the map below-

A look at the Parade Route
SpectroMagic and the 3 O'Clock Parade both start near the Firehouse and exit near Splash Mtn.
MVMCP and MNSSHP Parades both start near Spalsh Mtn. and exit near the Firehouse.

Ok I'm guessing you are talking about Wed the 21s. Wishes is at 9pm and Spectro at 10pm. It really is going to depend on the crowds. I would hightail it thru Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, and then to Frontierland and try to get a spot the second the last Boom goes off. I would guess most of the people on Main Street are just gonna park there for Spectro since it will only be about a 40-45 min wait after Wishes, plus you have all those people that stand in the street on Main St to watch Wishes that will need somewhere to go to let Spectro by and I'm betting they will crowd all of main stree.

Ok if we go back to Frontierland is the best way to go behind the castle via Fantasyland or do they have areas shut down b/c of the fireworks?

Read my updated post #2.

The FL crossovers are usually blocked, Robo drew you a map and came up with a great idea, cross the hub and use Adventureland as a pass thru.

I am going to the Wishes Dessert party this night that everyone is speaking about (4/21). Will I be able to see Spectro afterwards? I am not sure how close we will be to the parade route. Any help would be much appreciated.

2- I am not sure how close we will be to the parade route.

1- You should leave the party area after Wishes if you want to see the parade.

2- It's not very close.

You will be at a distance of 180-220 feet (2/3 of a football field) from the parade,
with guests standing between you and the parade entries.
I've presented the areas that are not obstructed by trees between the Noodle Station and the Hub area.

I dont understand the need for frontierland? what is wrong with spectro right on main street?

MUCH more crowded on Main Street and the Hub and often requires the need to grab a spot early and try to hold it without others crowding in.

Frontierland is a more relaxed, less busy viewing area (and the parade still looks and sounds great there.)

"FL" was confusing me.

I thought you were talking about Frontierland.

"FL" is not a very distinct abbreviation at MK, any more than "SM" is. ;)

Hey Robo, looking at your awesome ariel maps have you ever watched Wishes from that little pathway that leads from Main Street to the Tomorrowland Bridge? It looks like there might be some trees/shrubs but seems doable? I don't think this path is shown on the MK park maps b/c I don't ever remember seeing it so maybe not as crowded?

Hey Robo, looking at your awesome ariel maps

1) have you ever watched Wishes from that little pathway that leads from Main Street to the Tomorrowland Bridge?

2) It looks like there might be some trees/shrubs but seems doable?

3) I don't think this path is shown on the MK park maps b/c I don't ever remember seeing it so

4) maybe not as crowded?

1) Yes. I've checked the views from most of the areas.
2) Part of the path's view is completely blocked.
3-4) People don't necessarily look at a map when choosing a spot, in-person.
They will fill any unoccupied area, while the crowd swells in number as the time for the show approaches.
Sometimes they will make a mistake in choosing a viewing spot that is badly blocked from the main (rear-of-park) fireworks.
They then must scramble to reposition (in the dark, crowded conditions) to find a less obstructed view. A bit difficult, annoying -and sometimes dangerous- under packed show conditions.

On the map below, I assume you are asking about the curvy area(s,) shown in purple, to the right of the Hub.
Much of that area is recessed below the Main Street level by several feet, so that -and the foliage- can cause some blank spots in the view.
(That's why I chose to color that area as "good" [and not "better"] viewing.)

Below is a rough estimate of the Fireworks viewing spots
based on other posters' info on the boards and personal experience.

Oh All-Seeing-All-Telling-Robo, am I correct in thinking that if I happened to snag a table outside the Plaza I'd have a great view for Wishes but a not-so-great view of Spectromagic?

I've tried viewing Wishes in that area and the trees do block your view for most of the show, it's really hard to find a good spot over there.

Still trying to find the best spot for us, we usually just end up camping out in the hub, which is a disaster when the show is over.

If you can get a table that's viewing of the rear fireworks is not blocked by trees, Wishes viewing will be great.

The problem with seeing Spectro is there will be guests packed all along and directly on the street (several layers deep)... and you, being seated, will be blocked by those standing between you and the parade entrants.
