Hi all. I've been secretly compiling tips from your own weddings to help me stand my ground against the somewhat odd and strict rules that Disney Weddings seem to hold up to standard. I have a problem and I decided to come out of the shadows and see if anyone can help.
I got engaged in 2010 and decided on Feb 2012 because of work commitments but no actual date. Visited Francks and started setting out for a WP ceremony and Tamu Tamu reception. But, of course, it was too early and we had to wait.
Now I was just told that because a Gathering is being held on the proposed date this year, we can go ahead with scheduling but may be pushed even as late as a month 'til wedding date and may end up in a hall instead. To be honest, that's just not my cup of tea because, for that money (as you know) I can have a very extravagant hall wedding here in NYC instead. I'd hate to go through the planning for an Animal Kingdom reception and then end up somewhere else.
I'm very reluctant to book now and have even considering chatting with Disneyland to see what their options are. I think it's pretty ridiculous that we could be pushed out for an event that could possibly happen but I've been told to expect this from Disney Weddings.
Has anyone come across this? Circumvented? Any thoughts are appreciated!
