we are staying at the Polynesian when we visit this summer. We want to see wishes, but are uncertain as to whether we should watch from the beach at the poly, or if there is a reason to stay in the park to watch. We have little ones, so staying at the resort would be more convenient, but we weren't sure if we'd miss out on a portion of the show then by not watching from MK.

Thanks!!

You'll miss some show elements and some of the lower fireworks if watching from the beach. Unless you want to be surprised by the whole show I'd check YouTube for videos from both places to see exactly what you're missing and if you're okay with the view you'll have.

I think you should watch the fireworks from inside the park at least once. It is a different experience. Once you do that, then you can watch subsequent shows from around the monorail line (Contemporary > Polynesian > Grand Floridan > Wilderness Lodge).

It's nice to watch from outside the park, but it's a completely different experience from watching inside the park. You should watch inside the park at least once.

There's the Celebrate the Magic show that runs 15 minutes before Wishes. It's a castle-projection show and is really a must-see.

Plus, the view from the Poly beach isn't anything like it used to be with the DVC bungalows taking up a sizable chunk of the prime viewing locations.

This is why everyone should watch from inside the park, on Main St. at least once. The projection show is as spectacular as the fireworks themselves.
After that, watch from wherever you wish but get that first one inside the park with a view of the castle.
We've taken DGD since she was 3 and at no time did she ever struggle to stay awake for nighttime entertainment at Disney.

There is a difference between watching Wishes and seeing Wishes. You can watch it from the Poly beach (or from anywhere else around Seven Seas Lagoon), but the only place you can truly see Wishes is from MSUSA in MK.

When I was at the Poly beach a few weeks ago they didn't pipe in the music which really detracted from the show as a whole. Watch at least once from in the park so you can get the whole show - music, castle lights, and fireworks - then watch from elsewhere once you've had the experience
