We have an Ohana ressie on 9/13, the first night after our arrival that Wishes will be happening. DH loves Ohana, I'm more "meh" about it. Anyhow, it didn't occur to me at 180 days this would happen bc I didn't think about NOJ on the other nights...

We have Ohana at 8, which will probably allow wishes viewing from restaurant...right?

But Wishes is our thing. From our very first trip through now we have spent our 1st night @ WDW on Main Street watching MSEP & Wishes. This trip with MNSSHP, NOJ, and *gasp* going to other parks we will only have the opportunity to see wishes on the first and last night of our stay. This devastates me... Anyhow I'm wondering your thoughts on canceling Ohana and watching MSEP & wishes at MK versus seeing wishes from Ohana. I had snagged a reservation on another night but it really leads to a terrible trickle effect because our late TS lunch that day would need to be cancelled (no way we can eat lunch at 2 & then Ohana later for supper) blah blah FPP, transportation, etc... It all gets very complicated if we start moving things around this late in the game.

MK closes at 10 that night, so unless you are seated very late you may not see wishes from 'Ohana.

If they seat you on time you may be able to dash to main st after dinner-- not sure how big your party is though which drives how long your meal will be in either scenario.

As with so many aspects of planning a WDW vacation, you just have to decide which is the priority for your family and go with that if you need it to be a sure thing. If you are "devastated" by the thought of missing wishes that night it sounds like you know your top priority.

I also wouldn't bank on being able to see Wishes from inside 'Ohana. There are some prime tables, and they do dim the lights and pipe in the soundtrack, but there are also spots in the restaurant with lesser views or a primarily obstructed view. We prefer an ADR early enough at 'Ohana that we can eat and then head outside to watch Wishes.

Wishes is listed for 9 on the times schedule / online. The schedule has MSEP @ 8 & 10. Last time we had Ohana we were seated quite a bit after our reservation time... So much so we almost left because we were so tired. Anyhow - I figure if they seat us on time, even a little late that we would see wishes from there?

I agree that you need to prioritize and go with that. I really do not think you could make it back to the MK for WIshes, so you should chose which is most important.

As Tigger said above, it will all depend on timing and where you are seated. Only a portion of 'Ohana tables could see the castle and fireworks.

I agree with the others. This is a personal preference decision. We can't tell you what you want to do. You said you would be "devastated" to not experience Wishes your first night, so it does sound like you know what you want. You just need to choose an option and then enjoy it
Have Fun
