Wishes (MK) or Symphony in the Stars (DHS)

Which dessert party to choose? Two young boys who love both Star Wars and the magic of the "Disney Castle." Is either show better or worse and, if so, for what reason? Is either dessert party better? (Do both serve alcohol, in case mom and dad matter some that day?)

We have three boys who feel the same - love the castle and enjoy Star Wars. We did the Wishes Dessert Party at MK last year, and we booked the Star Wars Dessert Party for next month. No alcohol at MK. Fun Star-Wars themed alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at Star Wars. Star Wars includes both desserts and non-dessert items. As of now, it looks like Star Wars also offers standard mickey bars and ice cream treats in addition to the Star Wars-themed desserts. Guests also receive a Chewie stein at the Star Wars party. The viewing area for Wishes in MK isn't the best, but early reviews of Star Wars indicate that spots near the front/to the left provide great fireworks viewing. The only negative for some at Star Wars is the high tables with no chairs - Wishes has tables and chairs. But in our experience, once the fireworks start at the Wishes party, everyone stands along the railing anyway - jockeying for position - so the "seated" part was relatively short for us. We're very excited about the Star Wars party and based on early reviews, anticipate that it will be our favorite (we've also been to the Illuminations party in addition to the Wishes party.)

Dessert party for symphony in the stars fireworks show at HS. Dessert party is only showing out until March 19

You don't need any dessert party to enjoy either. But if choosing one, I'd definitely go Star Wars.

Better view, adult beverages, more food selection.

Wishes is quintessential Disney. If I had to choose one or the other, I'd pick Wishes.

Symphony in the Stars is outstanding. It's cool and worth seeing but, to me, not if you had to choose.

I'd always pick seeing fireworks over Cinderella Castle than the Chinese Theater.

I see Symphony in the Stars as a bonus but not my one and only fireworks show. This is purely my thoughts on the show, not dessert party.

Will they be able to see Wishes on your trip (in other words, are you picking one dessert party but still seeing the other show on another night?) If so, the Star Wars dessert party sounds cool, so you might want to do that one.

It also depends on if they've seen Wishes before or if you go back often. I'd consider going to Symphony over Wishes only if they are Star Wars super fans and they've seen Wishes before, or will be able to see it another time in the near future.
