Wishes in Catsablanca: 7.22.13 Epcot Wedding PJ&TR! Updated 03/09/15

Amazing! Just got caught up! LOVE LOVE LOVE your rings! I'm a huge LOTR fan!
I'm sorry your experience at OKW wasn't good. That stinks. :headache:
It's good to post these things though, because it could help someone else. We ate lunch at Olivia's last summer just to check it out. I didn't walk around the rest of the resort though. I've never really planned on staying there but I wasn't going to rule it out. I'll stick to what I know. LOL
Anyway, looking forward to reading more! :goodvibes

Your cake sounds really, really yummy! I'm glad you're having Mickey and Minnie make an appearance, since so many Wedding PJ's and TR's I've read almost never have them come. Anyway, I'm glad that you finally got to do this.

CAKE.

Thank you so much for posting your PS in such detail! I know I really appreciate it. It's great that you and the DF are so involved and definitely want "YOU" to shine through your event! You both have such creative sides, it's fantastic. Really enjoy reading along! :goodvibes

It sounds like it went REALLY well, I am so excited for you!

Fingers crossed for sunshine the morning of your big day!
Thank you! I'll all the crossed fingers I can get!

 at your DF, I love the picture of him with the mat. Priceless.

Wow! Sounds like everything went so smoothly! Thanks for posting in such detail! You gave me some things to think about for our planning session....and some stuff I need to get organized too!
Glad to help in any way I can! :goodvibes

Thank you! :goodvibes And yay, another LotR fan! The OKW thing was pretty unfortunate, I hate to discourage people from staying at OKW in case it was just a total fluke, but really who would take that kind of risk when the cost is so high. :confused3 There are plenty of other Disney resorts to try after all!

Yes! Cake! :rotfl: I am so excited for cake and Mickey and Minnie, and Mickey and Minnie being there at the same time as cake! Excellent! (I see your counter is down to 0! Yay! Have an awesome trip!)

My pleasure to help in any way! It's nice to know how the planning session is structured to be organized in advance. Thank you for reading! :goodvibes

Day Three - Pt. 2:

As we left Franck's it was still raining lightly, but we decided to head into the parks anyway, and the crowds pretty cleared out by the weather. Yay!

We headed to Small World and the line was back to the usual 5-10 minute wait we're used to. The night before we had been watching When in Rome on TV while getting ready for bed. While we were in the line someone marvelled at how many coins were tossed down into the sacred It's a Small World waters. DF turned to me and said, "Maybe someone should grab some coins and see if some unexplained Disney magic chases you home." I remarked that his idea would probably make a better movie! I'd watch that!

PSTR-066_zpsc911137c.jpg

Next we wandered over to Circusville. What is this called officially? I can never remember. Oh, Storybook Circus!

PSTR-067_zps7e853d9a.jpg

PSTR-068_zpse7dca963.jpg

Alright DF wins the photo contest this round

We went on Dumbo. A kid stood up while the ride was in motion so that apparently slowed down our line significantly. And then when we got to the front I was little disappointed to find that all their line-cutting implementations (i.e. the coloured cards) had been removed. Those really were a good idea.

Next we went over to Pete's Silly Sideshow to meet Circus Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy. Of course, for some reason I'd read the name of the attraction as Pete's Silly Slideshow, so I was expecting something WAY different. The theming is great in there. And I'm thinking a lot of people were also reading Slideshow, because it was pretty deserted.

After that we headed back to the other end of the park to try out Tortuga Tavern for lunch. We decided to share a chicken burrito and an order of beef nachos. I'm going to preface this by saying DF and I like really spicy food. We make our own salsa (using roasted peppers and scotch bonnets) and sometimes it's so spicy my mom can't even enter the room because the air around it is too spicy. That being said, the burrito was good but it was probably the most bland Mexican/Tex-Mex food I've ever had. The nachos were better, probably because I like that neon orange cheese every once in a while, and it didn't feel like it needed to be as spicy as we'd normally have a burrito. Also, I can understand the appeal of the toppings bar, but when it comes to burritos, a professionally rolled burrito is more appealing, so the fact that this thing came loose, and we had to roll it ourselves... well, needless to say, it ended in the sloppiest heap this side of the Rio Grande.

PSTR-073_zps86bfa29f.jpg

(That Devil Cayenne Pepper Sauce basically tasted like vinegar to me.)

PSTR-074_zps59c1fe21.jpg

After lunch we did Pirates then headed into Frontierland. Then we really had to move it because a Texan school marching band was getting ready to run us off the road. CMs were shouting at people to hit the deck and roll out of the way.

PSTR-075_zps760e13c9.jpg

We ducked into Country Bear Jamboree once the band had gone by. While I rested on a bench DF disappeared. Apparently to take a few self-portraits.

PSTR-076_zpsf8b413e0.jpg

PSTR-077_zps3de7384c.jpg

I have to say, I'd never seen this attraction, annnnnnnd I had no idea it was what it was. The room was more or less empty. But there was still plenty of room for the comedian in the audience who kept shouting out, "Standing room only at Country Bear Jamboree!" If it had been mildly clever the first time, it lessened with each subsequent repeat.

But seriously... is Disney aware there are girl bears singing: "all the guys that turn me on, turn me down." And seriously, do they know there's another girl bear who's singing about drowning her sorrows with wine? Now, just hang on a second, does Disney seriously know there is a song about blood on the floor? Blood. On the floor.

Wow, cool. That was the most awkwardly, awesome and antiquated thing I've ever seen. Haha! But how exactly did they make a whole movie based on this?

Then we did Swiss Family Robinson. The attraction where the group behind you pressures you to walk through as fast as possible. I took pictures to appreciate the ride later. Afterwards we went back to Tomorrowland for Peoplemover, Carousel of Progress, Speedway x2 and Space Mountain for me. Then Main Street for some window-shopping and a cool glass-blowing demonstration.

PSTR-078_zpsc3a39218.jpg

By then it was almost time for our ADR at Artist Point. We took the boat from MK over to WL and since WL is the first resort DF and I ever stayed in together it was like going home. Awww. We love Wilderness Lodge!

Artist Point is a seriously grown-up restaurant. When our families give us the side-eye because, "Gosh, you're going to Disney... again?" because they think it's just kids stuff at the parks, DF brings up the more refined experiences, like Artist Point. How amazing is it, that two adults can have a nice, romantic meal with great food at the same time a little kid is meeting Mickey Mouse for the very first time? WDW really is something.

We checked in about fifteen minutes before our 8:00 p.m. ADR, and had to wait until about 8:05 for our seating. That was fine, because we had pre-dinner cocktails at Territory Lounge. The restaurant itself is large and airy, perfectly integrated into the WL theming. Service from our waitress was extremely efficient and gracious, if a little less attentive than what we're used to with Disney. It was on-par with fine-dining service everywhere else, but the Disney difference wasn't necessarily there.

Food, however, was great. Artist Point is a signature dining experience, and it shows. The food is inspired by the Pacific Northwest, which apparently means American standards with some Asian influences. To start, I had a roasted beet salad, a refreshing combo of heirloom beets, goat cheese and, most interestingly, a charred leek powder (while I was eating it, it almost tasted like chocolate). DF had a bacon confit topped with a fried quail's egg; the bacon was perfectly cooked and fairly spicy (in a good way) and the dish as a whole was probably the best dish of bacon and eggs we've ever had.

PSTR-100_zps6de421ea.jpg

PSTR-101_zps5f731ecf.jpg

My main was a plate of seared scallops over asparagus risotto. There's a lot that can go wrong with a dish like that, at every stage of preparation, but the ingredients were fresh, the flavours were well-balanced and it was well-prepared. Not as amazing as the scallops I had at California Grill, but a fairly close second. DF had a slow-roasted buffalo strip steak with a side of truffle mac 'n' cheese. The steak itself came perfectly medium rare and very tender; the waitress came a minute after the plate arrived with a steak knife, but DF was already using the butter knife just fine. The fact that the steak wasn't heavily seared brought out the mild gaminess of the buffalo. The best part of the plate, however, was the sauteed chard--unbelievably sweet, with a perfect balance of tenderness and tooth. DF says it's the best individual plate of food he's had at WDW. Even though it boiled down to meat, starch and two veg, the flavours were so complimentary.

PSTR-103_zpsa8691892.jpg

PSTR-102_zps89701976.jpg

We were darned near stuffed by dessert, but we still opted to share a "Hugs and Kisses," a trio of chocolate desserts--a chocolate panna cotta with a spicy berry compote, a bar of valrhona chocolate with hazelnut granola (because Portland), and a chocolate-dipped strawberry--plated in OXO shapes, respectively. The panna cotta 'O' was dense yet smooth and light once it hit your mouth, and the Valrhona chcocolate bar 'X' was intensely chocolaty. The real star was the simplicity of the chocolate-dipped strawberry 'O'. It was big, full, lush and red, and tasted like STRAWBERRY EXCLAMATION POINT. It was what you imagine a strawberry tastes like, that perfect idea of strawberry from the realm of forms, but it was right there in front of us and covered in chocolate.

PSTR-104_zps113a6cb1.jpg

Overall, I'd say that Artist Point is one of the best meals I've had at Disney. It doesn't rival the overall experience of, say, California Grill, but the food itself is pretty spectacular.

Finally read through your whole PJ! I love it! The invitations, STD's, wedding rings... all amazing!

I had the same issue with Jack Day and because of the lack of communication wound up going to Rev. Kev Knox... best decision ever!

Looking forward to reading more! :goofy:

Thank you so much! The PJ must be getting to quite a slog to get through, so I really appreciate it!

It really is too bad about Jack Day's communication. We were really keen on using him, but we had no idea if was ever going to get back to us. Shame. But glad to hear you booked Rev. Knox (and that he is connected to you too, as you mentioned in your PJ)! That makes it even better!

Day Four: Why Yes, I Will Be Your Guest!

We went back to DHS in the morning because DF said it wouldn't be right for me not to ride my favourite ride (Tower of Terror) on my birthday trip. We did the usual thing, headed straight for Toy Story Mania for fastpasses. I really wanted to do this because it's one of the few great rides at DHS that DF and I can ride together. Thanks to traffic built up outside the DHS parking lot it took 45 minutes to get there from OKW. We weren't really sweating it while we were on the bus. But when we got the FPs they were already for 1:50. Ack. DF was annoyed that we got them instead of me getting ToT FPs, because lo and behold at 9:45 (45 minutes after park opening) the wait was already listed as 70 minutes. Again, I've never seen the line that long.

DF grumbled about the whole TSM and ToT FP situation, but I'm actually glad things happened the way they did. I had a chance to get a good, long and close look at all the nooks and crannies of ToT and figure out where I might request we take photos during our portrait session in the queue. Anyway 83 photos later and I love and appreciate the ToT theming even more!

I promise I won't share all 83 photos here. 82 tops! :lmao:

Minus the ghosty fastpass users

PSTR-084_zps2ec4ee86.jpg

After the ride I spotted a menu on the wall behind a plant near the on-ride photo area. Can I just reiterate how much I love and appreciate Disney theming!

PSTR-085_zps25445b00.jpg

I wish the Sunset Room was an actual room and not just a decorative door. I bet it'd make a great reception space!

At the end of it all the whole line and ride only took around 30-40 minutes. Could be worse! DF insisted we head back over to the Animation building to meet Wreck-it Ralph and Vanellope (edit: because Wreck-It Ralph is an instant animated classic, and what sane person wouldn't want to meet the movie's stars? --DF.) The line is themed like the video game hub in the movie, with many hilarious retro video game references that I'm guessing most of the kids in the line don't understand.

"Sonic the Hedgehog 2: CANCELLED - Rings on the Track"

I loved playing that game in... hmm... 1997? But then again kids can download every game ever made now, so maybe they know all the jokes better than me too. Oh wait, here's a classic waiting in the line photo. Our Yeti posing next to the Yeti t-shirt I made for DF for Christmas. We have way too much fun!

PSTR-086_zpsba6736ed.jpg

Vanellope and I are surprisingly well-coordinated.

PSTR-087_zps7eb0d605.jpg

And speaking of Sugar Rush, we made a beeline for Starring Rolls for a breakfast cupcake/my first ever Disney cupcake.

I present to you, the chocolate peanut butter mountain of cupcake glory.

PSTR-105_zpsc59452df.jpg

More than one CM at Starring Rolls told me how jealous they were that they weren't also eating this cupcake. And boy, was that a good cupcake! And I'm afraid I do endorse a strict must-eat-as-much-cake-for-breakfast-on-birthday-trips as possible rule. It's hard, but I do try.

According to my camera we followed this up immediately with lunch at Bill and Min's Dockside Diner. Huh. Well dessert first then! I had the sausage, but it was a little too heavy on the fennel for my liking. And DF went for the frankfurter, which was pretty good, but they were out of the pretzel buns or something. This is what happens when you let Wallace Beery steer the ship.

As we were eating we heard the announcement about the next American Idol Experience show happening soon, so we stuffed our food down and speed walked ourselves on over... only to find that the elastic meaning of "soon" meant "30 minutes from now." I took a lot of photos of this because we'd never seen it before. I ended up deleting most of the later on in the day when we came to the unexpected realization that our memory card was full. What?! We are going to need to bring a lot of spare cards on our honeymoon if we'd managed to fill a whole one in just three and a half days. Although, true, I don't usually take 83 photos of a single attraction...

We're not Idol fans. We do not worships Idols--maybe Kelly Clarkson around the holidays, but that's it. And yet The American Idol Experience is fairly well done. It's a pretty thorough Idol experience, and not a bad way to get out of the sun. There's an endorsement: "This attraction blocks harmful UV rays, has four walls and a roof."

Next we decided to try out the new(-ish?) Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow attraction. May I just say... that is not a good attraction. It does not feel up to Disney standards. And let's keep in mind that I'd been marveling at broken pottery around the ToT queue all morning, so I am open to appreciating the underappreciated. There is nothing more to say.

Finally our TSM FP were ready and we went in there the second the clock turned 1:50. Punctual. It was fun as usual. DF's score went down from last time, but I improved. He still beat me though. Grumble, grumble.

We decided to finish off our visit DHS with a viewing of the Beauty and the Beast show. I have a strange relationship with this show. Apparently during my first trip to Disney in 1992 my parents and I were waiting for the show for hours, and then right when we got to the front of the line a group of VIPs went in and another family from behind us in the line snuck in with them. And then the CM told my parents the show was full and we couldn't go in. Of course, my dad was pretty furious and explained about the line-jumpers but they were nowhere to be found and there was nothing the CM would do but let me go alone and watch from the stairs. This incident still causes such ire in my dad I dare not mention the Beauty in the Beast show in front of him, and thus I have not seen it since then.

This time, however, I decided we should watch it and then we just not mention it. Good plan. Also I'm happy to see they built a cover for over the seating. I remember it being so hot and bright that I could barely see.

We got in no problem this time, but the theatre did still fill up pretty well. The show is of course BatB lite, so I'm sure I needn't go into too many details. But I did at this point observe I'd seen about three or four different variations of Belle's gold dress throughout the parks. It's funny how it's different for everything - the show, the parade, the meet & greets.

As soon as the audience knew the show was ended, but before the curtains were fully closed, there was a mad dash to exit. Elbows flying, children tossed out of the way. Move it people, we've got places to be!

PSTR-106_zpsc9d0944a.jpg

We waited until the crowd dispersed then took a leisurely stroll out of DHS and back to OKW to rest and freshen up. That night we had two last objectives to fulfill. Experience an amazing time at Be Our Guest and get our favourite spot for Wishes!

But first, a quick photo-op!

PSTR-088_zps22d14c45.jpg

PSTR-089_zps3bca637d.jpg

In reality, I had no choice but go to the Emporium because I was freezing and I needed another sweater to go over my first sweater. I've never been so cold at Disney. Does not compute.

Finally... Be Our Guest!

PSTR-090_zps364bac65.jpg

This. Is. So. Awesome.

Once our buzzer went off we were ushered inside by a hostess who gave us a full run-down of all the amazing details of the restaurant. I couldn't believe some of the things she was telling us and DF was totally awe-struck. And I'm not going to post any photos, because none of the ones we took are good enough to do this place any justice. Seriously, it needs to be seen to be believed.

If this is the direction sit-down dining is going at WDW, I'm all for it. I'd say the decor is beautiful, but calling it decoration ignores the immersive experience the restaurant gives you. From every table, point of view and vantage point, you are in the movie. The only nit-picky criticism would be that the room was a little too dimly lit.

For a single-credit table service restaurant, the food is very good. I started with a trio of salads: roasted beet, watermelon, and tomato and green bean. The flavours were refreshing and varied, with the tomato and green bean salad as the standout. Perhaps I would have had a higher opinion of the roasted beet salad had I not had a superior beet salad the night before at Artist Point. DF ordered mussels (Bryan: "always a crap-shoot, if you've read Kitchen Confidential") but these mussels were plump, sweet and very, very fresh. They didn't skimp on the portion size, either. DF remarked at how intense the seasoning was (in a good way) with really vibrant leek and lemon zest dialing up the flavour.

Mains were more hit than miss. I ordered a perfectly cooked pork chop with a gratin of mac 'n' cheese and a side of green beans. The pork chop was probably the best piece of meat I've had at Disney. DF's luck ran out with a pan-seared salmon on a leek fondue. Not sure where the fondue went, but it seemed to have been mixed in with some mashed potatoes. It was tasty and the salmon was well-cooked, but DF said it was too heavy and ate like a deconstructed fish pie. I think he'd have preferred a fish pie, because they put vegetables in a fish pie.

Desserts are served from rolling carts and the servers plate them at your table (so you better believe there's some major squeeze-bottle action going on.) It looks like there's a high turnover for the desserts, so if you're worried about freshness, they don't sit there all night. DF was stuffed, and we "shared" a chocolate cream puff. Yummy! There was no art to it, just delicious, creamy, chocolaty, puffy goodness.

Service was friendly, if a little slow compared to other WDW restaurants, but who could possibly be in a rush to leave this gorgeous place? DF was in a state of awe through the entire meal and remarked that we don't have a must-do restaurant, a place we need to eat once every trip, but Be Our Guest might very well be it. It's just that spectacular. We'll definitely be there next time, for our rehearsal dinner.

Okay maybe just one photo. I did get to try the grey stuff!

PSTR-107_zps992cf517.jpg

It's delicious! Don't believe me? Look at the (empty) dishes.

On our way out, we were invited to go into the dark west wing (an adjacent room with a few more tables) to see the rose.

PSTR-108_zps66c95bde.jpg

We also stopped by to see the master of the house.

PSTR-109_zpsecc711ef.jpg

So Wishes. We got to our favourite spot at 8:30 and there were already people camped out there. Gasp! There was still space beside them so we were close enough. And we got there just in time, because about 10 minutes later a family had decided they were going to camp out directly behind us. That was a little awkward.

We just tried to carry on like they weren't even there.

PSTR-091_zps978d0a41.jpg

'Night Magic Kingdom! See you next time, during our wedding trip!

Great TR! Makes me incredibly excited about our honeymoon. I say honeymoon since we're only staying one night at Disney for the planning session....the rest of the time we're going to go to Universal Studios. DF wants to save having the Disney experience for our honeymoon. :)

So glad your trip ended *much* better than it started! :thumbsup2 Sounds like you had a fantastic time and delicious food! I can't wait to eat at Be Our Guest. Just this morning I was debating on whether to go for lunch or dinner, but I think it's pretty obvious that we need to do dinner.

I'm really sad to hear about the Legend of Jack Sparrow attraction. I love these movies, though I admit, it initially had a lot to do with Johnny Depp. :lovestruc I love him. Love. Him. Anyway, I had high hopes for this one. Sad day. :sad1:

I love that you are saving Disney for the honeymoon. Originally I was thinking we would do that too, but with the annual pass it made more sense to try and visit WDW as much as possible! Be Our Guest is amazing, DF has been raving about it to everyone and I can't wait to head back! Dinner is not to be missed, especially if you will be going there on your honeymoon!

Sorry that my review disappointed with the Jack Sparrow attraction. I love Johnny Depp too, and Johnny is definitely in there acting like his amazing self, so it may be worth it just for that! :)

Now that I am going to back to regular wedding updates, here are a few major updates!

1. We got our floral quotes back! Yay!
2. We got our BEO! Yay! And it's not even as bad as I expected! Yay!
3. We rented the tuxedos for the groom and BM!
4. My wedding veil accessory was finished and it's on its way to me from England!
5. I had a mini-freak out about ordering some extra lace to make an addition to my dress. But we sorted it all out! Yay! But it cost a bit more than expected at $400.... Yeah....
6. I scheduled my first dress fitting for May 7.
7. Outside photography is now allowed at in-park weddings? What?! (I'll definitely get back to this one later.)
8. I bit the bullet and bought "Just Married" buttons off eBay. They're also on the way.
9. Our favours are in!
10. I've made a lot of progress on even more DIY projects: newsletter for the welcome bags, favour packaging, and custom Honeymoon/Disneymoon t-shirts.

Alright, I'll start at the top with floral.

I wanted to go pretty simple with the floral aspects. I'll start with the bouquets.

For my bouquet I want to create a really soft, romantic look. On my floral pre-planning checklist I requested the following flowers: Garden roses/cabbage roses/peonies, lily of the valley, baby's breath, sweet pea, hydrangea, stephanotis, and tuberose. And when my floral planner came she was like "you've obviously thought a lot about what you want". It's true, for all the inspiration photos I looked at, I made a best effort to pick ones where the types of flowers were listed so I could make these requests by name.

Here are the inspiration photos I provided:

006e370c-66c4-4e54-b8c0-c63734992bb9_zps919b34aa.jpg

bouquet2_zps4528245d.jpg

bouquet1_zpsdf065aaf.jpg

bouquet7_zpsab4a554f.jpg

bouquet4_zps875b7f3d.jpg

This is when I got the first half of the bad news. Garden roses, which are featured prominently in the above photos, are premium flowers and have to be ordered by the box. Our planner offered to do a quote for the bouquet with garden roses and a second with just regular roses. And as I mentioned in my PS recap report, that freaked me out a lot.

So here's the bad news:

Premium Flower - Ivory garden roses in a box of 72 stems for use in the brides bouquet, (2) refreshes and as loose aisle petals.

Cost: $854.00

And just to be clear, this does not include any other elements of the bouquet or the assembly or whatever else usually goes into the cost of bouquet.

The rest of the bouquet would be as follows: Textured bouquet of ivory garden roses, peach roses and spray roses, light pink hydrangea, white wax flower with hanging green amaranthus. Accent with 1 clear Swarovski Mickey crystal. Wrap the stems 75% with ivory satin ribbon.

Cost: $175 + $3.75 for the Mickey crystal

Grand total: $1032.75

True, the garden roses would get some additional use as petals and for the refreshes, but over $1000 for one bouquet is ... Yeah.

Alright, so here is the proposal for the bouquet sans garden roses:

Textured bouquet of ivory roses, peach roses and spray roses, light pink hydrangea, white wax flower with hanging green amaranthus. Accent with 1 clear Swarovski Mickey crystal. Wrap the stems 75% with ivory satin ribbon.

Cost: $275

Well that sounds a lot more reasonable (as she predicted). I have asked if she could price out the cost of adding a couple stephantois to the mix, though. So pricing may or may not change based on that news!

Next up, bridesmaid bouquets. (Or alternatively Maid of Honour bouquets.)

I wanted to keep these simple, but still with that delicate romantic look. Just white with some greenery. Here's the inspiration:

e6ad010bb511bcede6a15b23082fef2c_zps23a2ebce.jpg

And now here's is where I got the second half of the bad news. Most of the above bouquets are combinations of baby's breath and lily-of-the-valley. And, yep, lily-of-the-valley is a premium flower! I have expensive taste.

Premium flower - Lily of the valley in a box of 25 stems for use in the MOH bouquets.

Cost: $205.00

Bouquet description: Round bouquet of babies breath and lily of the valley accents. Frame lightly with lily of the valley leaves (to be the only greenery). Wrap the stems 75% with ivory satin ribbon.

Cost: $75 x 2

She also did a quote for the bouquet with just the baby's breath and that came out to $85 (x2).

Buuut, after a lot of thought I've decided I want to keep the lily-of-the-valley. I really have my heart set on that look and the premium price is not nearly as outlandish as the garden roses. So yay! And not that this factored into my decision or anything, but I think both my MsOH dislike baby's breath. And not that this was a huge factor either, but I don't want it to look like I was trying to get the cheapest possible bouquet.

Well, I'm happy, that's what matters with bouquets, right?

OMG, you have renewed my excitement for the Legend of Jack Sparrow attraction. I'll be more than happy if he's there. Sounds ridiculous, I know. But, LOVE. HIM. :goodvibes

Where did you order the buttons from? I've looked on ebay, and the only ones I've seen are for DisneyLand. Though, I will admit that I'm not that saavy at online searching.

You have made a lot of progress!! Everything sounds great! :cheer2:

The bouquets are beautiful! The garden roses, are those premium because they are currently out of season? I'm just curious because I was thinking about using them to fill out the bouquets. I wanted our bouquets to look (and be) a little lighter and I thought the garden roses would help with that since they're more open. Roses are so heavy for the entire bouquet.

I love wax flower! I will be using that in place of any baby's breath. I'm getting so nervous about getting the multi-color roses I'm counting on and hoping they aren't too crazy expensive. Though if they have to be ordered by the box, I'm perfectly fine with that. They will be almost everywhere.

Disney is totally trying to screw you on the flowers. The garden roses, in a cream color, are about $170 to $250 wholesale. They're getting a triple markup, if not higher... Are you allowed to use outside floral?

The Lily of the Valley is legit though; that's one expensive flower!

Finally caught up to everything! Geez, you go to Disney for a week and you miss everything! Thank you for wishing me well on my trip, it was a lot of fun!

Anyway, I wish I could have eaten at Be Our Guest, because I really would like to try said Grey Stuff. Your flower outline looks really pretty! I love the colour palate on it.

LOVE your bouquet ideas! They are just so elegant and romantic. Really well done. I especially like how the MOH/BM bouquets will be all white. Really lovely and will look so nice to tie into your dress.

The buttons are the Disneyland ones. I'll probably still ask around WDW for just married buttons (you never know!!) but I didn't want to go without any. And hey, I may make my own little sticker to cover the Disneyland to replace it with WDW.

To be honest, I didn't ask why the garden roses are premium flowers, and I really have no idea. My understanding prior to our consultation was that garden roses are cheaper alternatives to peonies, so I never in my wildest dreams expected such a high price. It also sounds like Disney just way overcharges on these flowers for whatever reason and I'm not the only one to have received that kind of price. If you are set on them, I definitely consider looking at quotes from outside vendors for your bouquet.

I'd never heard of wax flower before, but after the quote came back I looked them up and they are so pretty! :goodvibes

Holy moly mark-up! I definitely hadn't researched the garden rose prices, I'd always just heard they were cheaper than other popular wedding flower options. So wow! I wonder why they charge so, so much more! Hopefully they are being hand-planted and grown by Disney princesses for that price! :rotfl: But I actually feel better about the lily if the valley now, so thank you for that!

I love your bouquets! They're very pretty and romantic looking!!!
Thank you! I can't wait to see them in person! Haha! :goodvibes

Just caught up. Sorry to hear about your bouquet drama.

The new photography rules are throwing everybody for a loop.

Everything looks great!

It's true, I'm disappointed by the garden roses, but overall I'm pleased with what I'm getting.

I cannot believe the photography rule change! I am seriously amazed they decided to make that change. I'll be writing about that as soon as DF and I clear up what we are going to do. But, wow, I'm in shock!

Insane prices on the garden roses! But I guess that is what I have grown to expect with Disney. I am considering going the silk flower route after hearing all these crazy flower prices! Your inspiration photos are beautiful though, I hope it looks just as beautiful in person, with whatever you decide to do :)
The photography change is crazy...I think lots of other brides are scrambling to get outside photographers now.
