Wishes Holiday Dessert party (or not)?

We did the Wishes dessert party on Friday 11/25. It was very nice with the selection of desserts and my kids (21,20,15) enjoyed it. They had all the tables up close to the edge of Tomorrow Land Terrence and we were able to sit and view the fireworks. Just a note that the fireworks will not appear to be over the castle but slightly to the side. For Tinker Bell fans, she flies straight to the Tomorrow Land Terrence during the fireworks. We even debated staying for the new projection show since there is a great view of the castle.

Our last debate was which was better, the Illuminations Fireworks Cruise or the Wishes Dessert party. In the end the food is much better at the party but the view from the lake for Illuminations was outstanding.

Just book this for my family and am excited to try this experience out!! Question for you because I have been reading different things. Were the tables assigned already when you arrived? Or was it first come, first serve? Also is their really a bad view in this area if you had to say? I mean I know obviously you would want to be at one of the front tables but I would assume that the view from any table would be pretty magical. Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!

Tables aren't reserved. However, last time we did this in November, we were a party of two and we're told we could choose any table with two chairs. So if you're a party of 8 they aren't going to let you take 4 of the 2-tops at the front. And if you're a party of 2, you can't take a table with 4 chairs etc. I thought that was more fair.

We did this in February. It was a good time. Probably won't do it again, but wanted to do it once. We enjoyed the food and the view, but it's not something that I thought was worth the $80 or whatever.
