Just jotting down some notes on things to do while I'm there, that my family has never done before.

#1: See wishes from the beach @ Poly.

Anyone else have any "must do's" that don't include the Parks? Maybe something else @ one of the resorts?

My granddaughters enjoyed going to Fort Wilderness for the campfire sing-along with Chip and Dale.

Some have reported that on crowded days CM's at Poly ask for Poly room keys to be shown in order to head to the beach area. We've always gone on slow days with an empty beach and nobody asking.

One thing we enjoy is taking the boat from DTD to POR. It is the longest boat ride at Disney World. I believe it takes you roughly 4 miles up the river. Nice and relaxing way to take a break. Then have lunch at POR. Food there is very good, especially the create your own pasta station.

Head to AKL for a visit. Beautiful resort to just look around. Go outside and view the animals. At night there will be CM's with night vision goggles that you can use to view the animals in the darkness.

In December 2007 when I stayed at the Polynesian I never saw any Cast Members asking guests to show their Key To The World cards, even during the days closer to Christmas when they kept getting a lot more busy.

Thanks for the head's up. Also, we're staying at POR and looking forward to the relaxing boat ride! We stayed @ AKL last year and it was wonderful.

We love the boat to DTD, and Bob Jacksons show at POR. Horse & Carriage ride? Mini Golf? When we have ADRs at other resorts we love exploring, looking at the resort shops, etc.

We were asked on 4th of July this year. But I guess that is reasonable as it was PACKED! I don't think it's the norm though.

Definitely see Wishes from the Poly beach, I have never been asked for a room key and have gone a least a dozen times. Ride the monorail before or after Wishes, walk through the GF if you have time.
Here are some other non park activities:
Walk around the BW/BC/YC area. Stop in for a meal at B&C, or a cupcake from BW bakery. It is fun at night, or during the day.
Taking a boat ride from MK to WL is nice too. WL is so beautiful and fun to visit.
Visit gift shops at all the resorts you visit, sometimes you can find some different things that are specific to the resort theme.
If you are staying at POR you will love just hanging out at the resort. Take a walk over to POFQ. It is a great walk down the river.

We always go for a trail ride at Fort Wilderness. For experienced riders, it's probably not very exciting, but we find it relaxing. We love to go first thing in the morning before it gets too hot. The trail is pretty, and we usually see deer just a few feet away.
