Wishes from Ohana or Calif. Grill?

I've read that viewing Wishes is really nice from Ohana / Polynesian (where we're staying) and I've already made a PS for Ohana, but I'm second guessing myself! Taking my mom and her sister for a couple of days next Sun and want the biggest bang for the buck... I think I'm leaning towards California Grill... whaddya think? Opinions please!! Thanks - cp

I have eaten in both. I like Ohana Grille better. I liked the Atmosphere, the theme and the food better. There are many people that love the California Grille.

We also plan to see the fireworks from Ohana. Do you know if they have the music piped in as they do at California Grille? We'd also like to see the electric pageant.

They do pipe the music into Ohana - im not sure with the CG! It was really nice. Just request a table close to the windows - make a PS for like 830 or so!

We are going to WDW in early January. What time would you suggest getting a PS at Ohana that would allow us to watch the MK fireworks as well?

Are the fireworks at the MK always at the same time, no matter what time of year?

Any help is appreciated!

The music is piped in at the California Grill, and the house lights in the dining room are turned down during the show as well.

You can also walk outside onto the observation deck if you want to hear the fireworks better than you would inside the restaurant.

All that said, we prefer the CG.

We will be there Dec 18-24. Every year we have dinner at Ohanas and go out and sit on the beach to watch Wishes and The Electrical Water Pagent. The music is piped out to the beach. It is a great view and not crowed. You can sit in a chair or lay in a hamock and enjoy.

I've never been to Ohanas but I ate at the CR during the fireworks. It was awesome. Because you are so high up you have such a great view that you are practically eye to eye with the fireworks. It's great! They turn the lights down and pipe in the music its just a great place.

We ate at Ohanas in July for our anniversary. The view was great from the restaurant. The people who did not have a window seat moved so that they could view the fireworks. They dim the lights and pipe in the music. We had PS for 9pm and Wishes was at 10. I would do it again.
