Wishes FP+

Am I missing something? What's the benefit of this?
Can you still stay in the park like 'the old days' for Wishes?

Also, does anyone know whether you can buy tickets for MVMCP whilst at WDW? Or is it likely that they will have sold out by then? I was hoping I could see how our spending money budget was looking and then decide on whether we could afford it?

This is for a reserved area so you wouldn't have to wait in a spot for so long before it. Not worth it to me personally but I can see for some it would be. But yes you can still do it the old way.
Party tickets you can buy at the ticket booths and at your resort if your staying on site. Never been to Mvmcp but if it's anything like MNSSHP closer to Halloween the parties tend to sell out so I would have thought the closer to Christmas Day it will be more likely to sell out.

The benefit of the Wishes FP+ is that you're in a roped off area in the Rose Garden and can sit down on the grass in an uncrowded space (there's about 50-60 people in there I guess). However, you'll have a side view of the castle, and there are trees in the way which obscure some of fireworks.

Personally, we enjoyed the space to sit and relax on the grass, but the view wasn't great, so we prefer to view Wishes straight on from Main Street.
