Wishes Fireworks from near BOG?

Just a few days before trip, I was randomly checking BOG and lo and behold a reservation for 6 was available at 8:55 pm.

I grabbed it to give my kids a chance to eat a dessert there to see the castle, but I don't want to miss fireworks at 9.

I'm thinking I'll check in at 8:55 and tell them I'm waiting on the rest of the group. I've heard they're pretty loose on late arrivals especially if you at least check in.

But is there a spot near BOG that would be OK for the family to view Wishes before heading in? Thanks.

I can't speak to whether your BOG check in strategy will work, but I just watched Wishes from Fantasyland for the first time last week, and it's a breathtaking experience! You just need to park yourself someplace central, and make sure you've got room to spin around because the fireworks are literally all around you. Over 20 trips and this was the first time I've tried this--now I'm wondering what took me so long! Best part, even on a night when MK was open until midnight (NOT EMH), there was no crowd, no 6' daddies putting their kids on their shoulders at the last minute, nobody taking photos with their iPad in my line of sight. It was the most relaxed viewing of Wishes I've ever experienced.

I used to work in Fantasyland back in 2004 and watched Wishes from there nightly. I haven't done it since the layout changed, but if you are familiar with how it used to look.... When looking at where Dumbo was with your back to the castle, you would stand just to the right of the old Dumbo location. This way you are positioned to see Tinkerbell fly down in front of the castle (best bet is to take a look during the day and find a spot where you can see "Cinderella's Clothes Line)
ETA - you obviously won't want to stand with your back to the castle to see Tink. She flies almost 2 minutes into the show.

I would find out if 8:55 is the last reservation of the night. If it is the last reservation you might have to choose between BOG and Wishes because the restaurant will be closing and the CMs at the podium probably won't wait an additional 20 minutes for your family.
