I'm looking for information from people who have taken the Wishes fireworks specialty cruises from the MK resorts. I got information from the IPO at Wilderness Lodge and from a driver from our last Illuminations cruise that differ, so I thought I would see if anyone has personal experience. I understand there are 2 boat sizes, one with a max of 8 guests and one a max of 10. The IPO assured us that both sized boats have onboard audio for the wishes soundtrack and the snacks on the boat, as well as the ability to order food through the WL room service. However, the driver of our Illuminations cruise was telling us that the smaller ones don't have the audio for the soundtrack. We only need the smaller size, but the most important thing to me is having the onboard audio to hear the soundtrack. That, to me, makes all of the difference. Without music I can save a lot of money and watch elsewhere, or go to the Poly beach (particularly when we stay there) and even get the music for free (unless you factor in the price difference to stay at the Poly most times :)) Anyway, has anyone taken the smaller boat and had the music onboard, or have any information swaying us to take the larger boat even though we fit in the smaller, less expensive one?

We had the smaller boat 2 years ago and it had music. Our skipper told us all the boats had recently (at that time) been outfitted with the music. You won't regret it; it was worth every single penny! Happy to answer any other questions if I can (we went from the Poly).

Thanks so much! Maybe our driver didn't have UTD info, I got the impression he only did Illuminations. We've never done Wishes, but since we'll be at the WL we thought it might be nice to take a cruise when we can just walk down to the dock and get on instead of driving over to the YC for Illuminations. But 'm so glad to know the smaller boat had audio, it's something like $60 cheaper. How many people did you have? Was the boat roomy enough?

We went on the smaller boat last summer from the Grand Floridian. We loved it. There were 7 of us (5 adults and 2 children) and there was enough room. Some sat on the bench seats in the front and some sat on the bench seat in the back. All were good seats and you could see everything. There was music and plenty of snacks and drinks. The driver told us to take the snacks and drinks when we left the boat after the fireworks. We drove around before the fireworks and heard a bit of Disney history. We were also able to idle and watch the Electrical Water Pageant. Then we parked right in front of the Magic Kingdom for the fireworks. It was great. One of the best parts was that when the fireworks were over we just had a short ride to the dock and got off the boat, no crowds to fight, etc.

Can you be split with other parties if there are only 2 of you, or do you have to rent the whole boat, and it's up to you to fill it?

You rent the whole boat when you reserve it. So if there are only two people in your party, that is all that will be on the boat.

I just called yesterday with the same question. The CM on the told me that BOTH size boats definitely have the music now, but that Wasn't always the case. I posted on the "share a cruise" thread, but we are looking for up to 4 people to share the basic Wishes cruise between October 1 and October 6.
