Wishes dessert party

We did this last summer and it was FABULOUS! I am not so patiently waiting to book for June 2011 but currently they are only booking thru March.

I've been reading this thread with interest! I didn't even know about this at all! My kids are 4 and 1 so we are somewhat "newbies." We have a trip planned for the first week in March, I just checked and a res is available. My question is, the only time available is 7:10. I'm a little worried about keeping a 1 year old occupied until Fireworks start, so if we need to take him out to wander a bit, is your table gone for another later sitting if you abandon it, or is that "yours" until after fireworks??

I know this was addresses a little bit before, but I'm still unclear. Thanks!

Um, NEVERMIND! If I had been smart enough to check the disney calendar, I would see that the park closes at 8 pm that night, so fireworks are at 8 :)

Just wanted to let people know that they've finally opened up reservations for the dessert party for after March 31. It looks like there are now reservations available for April and May. I checked a few dates in June and didn't see availability there, so I'm not sure how far out they are booking.

How quickly does this usually book up? They have times open for the day I want, but I need to ask the other families going with us if it's something they want to do. Should I just book it now and cancel if they don't want to do it, or do you think it's safe to wait until tomorrow morning?

I just booked for May! I can't wait. This will be our last night. Dh and I are taking my niece who will be turning 13 that day. Then we're going to stay for evening emh.

Who stuffs a kid full of sugar and then makes them ride rides until 2am? Why, the coolest aunt in the world, that's who!

Btw, has anyone who has already been to this had or seen anyone having a birthday or other celebration? Its already dessert so it doesn't seem like a cake would be appropriate. I wonder if the CMs recognize celebrations there at all?

You pay in full when you book. So unless you want to pay for everyone on your credit card, you might want to make sure.;)

I just booked a table for 9.15 pm (Wishes is at 10pm)

To those who have been before, do you think I would have time to watch MSEP at 9pm and then dash over for my ADR?

I've paid in advance so don't want to lose my booking if I am a few minutes late

Just in case you want to know what the dessert table looks like...

Thanks for posting your pictures! I hadn't realized the dessert party would be going on for our March trip and I was trying to explain it to DH. I showed him your pictures and he said, "Wow, book that one now, please!" :lmao:

My DH also requested that I book this for our upcoming trip! :goodvibes
For the last week in March, it was $93.68 for four of us. You do have to pay for it up front, but you can cancel it up to 24 hours in advance with no penalty. We are really excited about it! DH hates staking out a spot for the fireworks an hour in advance only to have people crowd in at the last minute. I realize that you could probably find a free spot with a great view, but this will be a nice, relaxing way to enjoy Wishes while eating yummy desserts and sipping coffee! :thumbsup2

I booked also in May. When it asked about Celebration, I made sure to put what we were celebrating. I am hoping they put this on our name card.

Does anyone know if you can see the Spectromagic Parade from here as well or if its best to watch that on the groudn?

We've never done the Dessert Party so I am definitely booking it for our June trip when they open up June dates. The pictures look amazing!! :thumbsup2

My sister and I were walking by just there last Saturday and the Dessert Party was practically empty! We were able to see the dessert tables and they looked fantastic!! We just booked this for us and our kids in March! :dance3:

we just did this for the first time 2 weeks ago. man, it was great! the food was incredible, but what bad can you say about a dessert BUFFET??!! i HIGHLY recommend this at least once!

as for the parade, you can see it, but honestly they arent the best views. if the parade is really important to you, you may want to check in the for the party, and then go get your spot for the parade. you have assigned tables in the party, and you dont have to worry about the desserts getting gone, so when you come back to the terrace, you can grab some desserts and enjoy the fireworks.

once again, this is a must do in our opinion!

I have been 3 times, each with a birthday, anniversary, and a H.S. graduation. None of them were "celebrated". But at Disney you never know.

So the night I was wanting to book the park closes at 9:00....the online booking system is giving me the choice to book our ressie at 8:00, 8:15 or 8:20...I just assumed that all of the reservations would be for the same time. For anyone who has been what time should I pick. It will be me, DH, DS8 and DD5.

Thanks for your help!

What happens if you book the dessert party and it rains? Do you just attend the buffet with no fireworks or do they refund you?

Good question! Does anyone know? It was almost $100.00 for four of us and that is way too much to pay for desert!
