Hello All. I just booked the dessert party for my Mom & I. It says our reservation is for 8:10. This is a night we have a ADR for 1:05 so we shouldn't be too full or anything by the time it starts.

Now let me get this straight... Since we will be at the dessert party we will miss the parade, right?

We are planning another night at Magic Kingdom so we can see the parade that night so it's not a problem.

Do i need to show up any sooner then my ADR? What can I expect to happen?

I'm sooo excited!

We enjoyed WDP last May so much that we will be going again next week!!! :goodvibes To answer some of your questions no you cant really see MSEP from the Terrace. Maybe the top of a couple floats but thats about it. You can arrive right at your time or a little before it doesnt really matter because there will be a table with your name on it that no one else can take. They will escort you there and you are free to come and go as you please as long as you have your party bracelet on. The desserts are wonderful and are refilled quickly all night long:thumbsup2 We lingered and allowed the mad rush of people to leave while we enjoyed a cup of coffee.. They let you stay for a good half hour to an hour after Wishes:) It was relaxing and fun to just watch the castle change colors. One more thing there is also a PP person there if you would like to take a wonderful pic with castle behind you. Those were my fave pics of the trip[:goodvibes Enjoy!!!!!!!

So does this mean you are better off making an earlier ADR, so you can snack a little, then leave to do something in the park, then come back and snack a little more before Wishes. When we will be there in June, Wishes is at 10:00. So if I make ADRs for 7:00, I could have a few desserts, then go do a few things and watch the parade, then come back to eat a little more, then watch Wishes at 10:00. Is that correct?

Looking into the Dessert/Fireworks for a future trip. Great thread!

If I understand what you are saying here, the answer is no. In my experience with the dessert party, you can leave to go to the restroom or step out of the area for a bit, but isn't something that is set up for hours. We arrived, made a plate full of desserts, took photopass pictures, ate, ate again, watched fireworks, then they began clearing the buffet of desserts away. We never felt rushed, but didn't feel like it was an hours on end dessert buffet. Does that make sense? Anyway, to us it was worth every penny and we loved it!! I would recommend an early dinner or light dinner. In fact, we completely skipped our dinner reservation so we would be hungry for the desserts. We just grabbed a hot dog earlier in the evening. Hope this helps!

We have done the dessert party 2 times in the last 6 months. We just did it to celebrate my son's 2nd birthday on January 14. The dessert party takes place for the entire hour before Wishes. For example, wishes was @8pm last Friday so we were allowed to enter the dessert party @ 7 pm. There is no reason to get there earlier than maybe 10 or15 minutes because they have already assigned you a table. It is a fantastic experience! A photos photographer is there as well.

ALL ADR's for the desert party are 1 hour (or 55 minutes if you want to be exact) before Wishes. There are no "early" or "late" seatings. It is a single-seating event. No one will rush you through your time and your table is guaranteed and assigned before you get there. I booked it because it seemd a very relaxing way to enjoy Wishes on our first night in the World and not have to go back to the resort with grumbly tummies. :thumbsup2

Ok, this makes sense now. When I try to book an ADR for June, it gives me the options of 7:00, 8:00, or 9:00. Then it tells me there are no times available. I realize that is because they haven't opened it up yet for June ressies. It just doesn't make sense why they display the 3 times if there is really only one time for ADRs on that day, which will be 9:00 for a scheduled showing of Wishes at 10:00. Since the OP stated you can come and go as you please, it just made me think I would be better off booking at 7:00 so I can start snacking earlier. I will just plan on 9:00.

I just called and reservations haven't been opened up past March 31st. The CM had no idea when they would be opened up. I really wanna go June 3rd!

When I said come and go as you please I meant if you wanted to catch the end of MSEP you could. Or run to the bathroom. Your dessert plate will be cleared but your table will be there through Wishes:) Your ADR for WDP is only an hour before Wishes so plan wisely.

Just in case you want to know what the dessert table looks like...

Make sure you watch for Tink during the fireworks show. She flies right over the top of you!

Oh those pictures look great!! Thank you everybody for your great answers to help me!! I am thrilled that a photopass person will be there! :)

One more question, My mom gets pain from standing too much, Which is another reason why I thought this would be great, However after reading into it more I have read people say before the fireworks start people walk up to the railing/balcony whatever? to get a good view! Will we not be able to see the fireworks just from our table..? Is this true.. I pray it is not true.

I am very excited!! :)

Yes I would like to know if you can sit at the table and watch Wishes? Also where are the prices for this?

It is not a problem watching the fireworks from your assigned table. A lot of people go to the railing but it does not obstruct your view that much. You are close enough to the castle that the angle is fine for watching the fireworks.

When I checked the Disney Website, the prices were listed as $35 for adults (age 10 and up) and $15 for kids.

Hi
I just checked the website and it says up to $35. but when I put in a date just to see the price, it said $21.99 per person and for 2 people it came to around $46.00. I guess that included the tax. So I don't know where they're getting the $35.00 from. I'm hoping to book this for the end of May, but I wouldn't pay $70.00 for desserts. I think $46.00 is even a lot, but I wanted to try this at least once.

Prices vary seasonally. I suspect that $35.00 might be what you might see in peak season. For Feb it's $21.99 for adults and 11.99 for children.

I booked the party last week for peak season (3rd week in March) and also got the $21.99 price. It's possible the party has been re-priced if they weren't getting good attendance at the $35 price tag?

Also, when considering the price, one needs to keep in mind that it's essentially a reserved seating for Wishes - not just a dessert buffet.
