Your very Welcome. Your review was excellent and answered many questions people have about the Dessert Party.

I had planned on doing a review of the party when I went in March but unfortunately DH and I were so poopered out after dinner we skipped going and headed back to our resort instead.....big waste of $ but such is life.

The general rule is that the Dessert party opens about 1 hour before the fireworks. However a line starts forming about 1.5 hrs before the fireworks begin. When we went about a month ago, they let us in at 8:40pm, and i saw some get in even sooner according to some threads. Again, it makes no difference when your reservation time is...you can enter long before it, as all tables/seats are pre-assigned. Hope this helps.:thumbsup2

Wow, we've never been let in early, so it is good to know that they do that sometimes. We've been able to check in (get our bracelets) a half hour early, but they have still held everyone outside till the actual start time (1 hour before fireworks). The last couple parties we just waited to check in till right before opening, because we didn't see the point of standing around outside waiting to be let in when our table is already assigned.

But, if they are letting people in early, maybe we will get there a littlle early.

We have a reservation for a 3:30 lunch at T-rex the day I want our res for. I'm figuring we'll has a cs breakfast that morning instead of something quick in room, then late lunch, then dessert for dinner. ;) I'm sure my kids won't protest!

Our ADR is at Fultons for 6:10.... right now there isnt anything earlier. I`ll probably keep checking... I`ll still keep it if I cant get anything earlier... It'd just be nice to space it out a bit.

Hi, Just popping by to see what dates the dessert party is up to. I am taking my DD in November and wanted to share this with her. When we went in oct for our anniversary I was the first caller and had the frist table by the railing. Hoping to have the same luck with my daughter, Thanks

I've never heard of the desert party opening up an early and I have been following this thread since it started. Can anybody else verify? I've heard of a line forming a bit early but never being let in early.

BTW, all you September peeps, I'm still here, hanging with you, watching and waiting! Fingers crossed it happens soon!

We were there at the end of May. We got in line (was already starting to get long and we finished everything else we wanted to do) at 8:20 PM. Official seating was at 9 PM with fireworks starting at 10 PM. They started seating at about 8:30 PM--30 minutes "early." I had read elsewhere (not on the Dis) that seating would probably start 15-30 minutes early, depending on line size.

Good to know, thanks! I know tables are reserved but I worry about somebody switching the tables around because they don't like their seat! I'm sure it's happened, lol. I'm thinking with our party of 7, that it's unlikely to happen to us but one has to wonder if somebody with a party of 2 or party of 4 has ever seen their table and decided they wanted a different table so they switched the table markers. Now THAT would make me angry :)

Your party name is taped heavily to the table. But it could happen. It would be easy to discover though--you are escorted to your table and they check your name against the name on the table.

As a matter of fact, when we were there, we came back from getting our desserts to find that someone had taken one of our chairs. There was a lady next to us who had taken it to put her feet up on it. I was going to ask the CM if she could get me another chair (not worth fighting with the other guest who obviously felt very entitled--it did not look like she had just hurt herself and it was an emergency) when the CM just kind of nodded at me and removed those people from that table. It wasn't their table! They didn't like their table so they decided to move. The people who were assigned that table were seated a few minutes later. Makes me wonder if while we were up, they tried to seat them originally.

Awesome! Thanks for sharing your info. I'm a worrier and it's nice to know that my table isn't going to go to somebody else if we aren't there right away an hour before it opens. I absolutely HATE standing in line for Fantasmic, etc. I was hoping this would be a different experience, lol!

I'm a worrier too! We went back in October and because everyone in my group faffed around a lot by time we got to Tomorrowland the queue was massive and my heart sank. But it worked out fine in the end because we were shown to a table with our name on it. Phew! :thumbsup2

Last time we did it we were 10-15 minutes late and there was no line. I had no idea people waited early. There was no fruit by the time we got there and they never refilled it. We will not be late again.

Called today....they're still only booking up until August 31st. HE sounded like he gives that schpeel a lot.....LOL.

Were the desserts out and available that early? That part would be nice :goodvibes

But then, if you arrived for the "official" starting time at 9pm, were they replinishing the desserts or were they out of some things by then :confused3
That part wouldn't be so great if you arrived at 9pm.

TIA

Yes. All the desserts were out and ready.

At our party, they probably started running out of some of the desserts at about 9:00-9:15. No doubt about it. BUT, 75% of the people were there by then.

One thing to remember is, when they run out of one dessert, they replace it with something completely different. So, if you don't grab something right away to try it, you might miss it--there is p-l-e-n-t-y of everything though. But if you fill up and grab everything you want on the first trip, you might be unable (full/sugared up) to try something equally or more appealing later. We were victims of the latter. When we go in October (hopefully), I'll know to pace myself.

They never ran out of desserts, not even at the end, but the choices did go down towards the end. At our party (and it will vary by who is at which party), there was always plenty of fruit and chocolate covered strawberries. Lots of cookies too. The ice cream never ran out, but the toppings dwindled at the end--much to the disappointment of my son. The drinks remained constant and full--they ran out of nothing there.

Personally, I plan on being early again. I liked being able to get great pictures in front of the castle before there was a line (or anyone in the background). I liked seeing what all the choices were, but I'll go slower (and I know what I don't like now too). I like being completely done before the show so that we truly get to enjoy the show. It's not like waiting in crowds to see the parades/fireworks. It's relaxed and enjoyable. It's quality time enjoying your family--very nice down time. No one is pushing. You aren't "guarding" your spot. You aren't basically doing nothing. No one is trying to get you to buy over-priced junk for your kids. And the snacks are already paid for. :teeth:
