Wishes Dessert Party ADR Watch Thread December 1-29 2012 Now Open!

Just booked the party for May 31 as a surprise for my family. I'm quite excited.

My May 22nd reservations are ALSO a suprise for my mom and my son!! I have a HARD TIME keeping a secret when its THIS BIG!! I also have Fantasmic! Dinner Package reserved. My son knows about that one--but my mom doesn't!!! THIS is going to be FUN FUN FUN!!!!

This time around it wasn't as good as the first but mostly because we got stuck in the back. The first time we did it we had the most perfect seats. It also didn't help that my little one got too tired (my fault for not making him take a nap) so we ended up leaving before the fireworks started. I still think it's worth doing it at least once for anyone coming in on vacation.

They also did not have our reservation listed (as said above, I got in a few hours before we left). It turns out that someone cancelled and we got their reservation, but because the computers were down, they did not know which table should have been ours (pre-assigned). Luckily I printed out all our info so we couldn't be turned away, but that's why we had to sit in the back. The guy was super nice and offered to refund one of our fees, but I told him not too. I didn't think it was that big of a deal.

But make sure ya'll bring your confirmations!

We have never done this. We are going in Aug for DS 15th bday. How does it work? How far out to make ressies? Reading I assume it is a tough ticket to get. Is it worth the extra money? Any ideas or advice http://www.wdwinfo.com/images/smilies/confused24.gif

It's pricey for some dessert. The desserts are okay, nothing spectacular. But there are a lot to choose from and the strawberries are amazing. I think it's worth doing because even if you are standing at the rail, you can watch the fireworks without other people pushing and shoving. I'd recommend it to anyone at least once. Just make sure you are hungry. And make sure your kids arent tired prior!

Sorry you missed it this time around!!! I hope the rest of your trip was wonderful!!

The trip was wonderful, just very tiring. Our last visit was in 2009 and I have to say we both noticed a big decline in our stamina between this trip and the last. I am pushing 59 and DH will be 60 end of the month. I should have thought being at the park for so many hours without a break might not have been a good plan.

Hope you have a great trip and eat some desserts for me.

The dessert party starts letting people in @ 9:00 pm for a 10:00 pm Wishes. Desserts are served up to (and probably during) Wishes, at which time you will be able to watch Wishes from the Terrace. I imagine 9:05 is a good time to get. BTW, reports are that all tables are pre-assigned so it doesn't matter what time you get in, but speculation is that smaller parties and earlier reservations get the best seats in the house. Have Fun!

I'm still waiting on June to open up so I can try to get the 9:00 seating time.

9:05 is perfect, most reservations are listed from 9:00 to 9:15. You will have plenty of time to get dessert, then sit back and enjoy the fireworks. Make that reservation before it goes away!

Me too!!!! I'm so nervous because I'm a teacher, so I can't use the phone or computer until later in the day. I'm hoping they don't release June dates until I'm on Spring Break in April

Smaller parties definitely don't have anything to do with it. I've done it twice now and the first time we had 5 of us and were right up front. Both times I've noticed the tables are all mixed. Some of the two seater tables are up front and some further back. There's no set pattern to it.

I'm not sure if having an early reservation has anything to do with it or not. The first time I made the reservation the day it opened. We were also celebrating a birthday. I don't know if any of that helped or if it was just random luck.

Looks like the past 2 months they released on the 7th. When does your Spring Break start?

I'm in the same boat with work guess I'll have to check using my phone on my lunch break

Just checked April 7th is on a Saturday could we get that lucky or will they wait till the following week
