Why are so many of you trying to squeeze in a rather late ts dinner followed by the dessert party? Is it just for the uncrowded view of wishes? After dinner at CRT there is no way I could enjoy the awesome dessert options at the party. I skipped dinner completely before the party last year and just had a light savoury snack afterwards since I really craved that after all the wonderful sugary stuff.

I agree... You don't want a full stomach when you go to the dessert party. We generally have a decent lunch around 1-2pm, then a healthy snack around 4 or 5...then the desert party around 9 (in our case). We don't pig out so to speak, but you do get full if you try even a few of the different dessert items.

You may get full on a couple of desserts, but I didn't get this figure by eating light! :rotfl:

Our dinner will be at LTT at 5:30. I'll be ready to fill my dessert tank by then :)

We do the same thing! I could never go to a dessert party on a full stomach. I have to save room for the chocolate and fruit :goodvibes

Agreed. We actually just cancelled our 4:15 LTT because we knew there was no way we would enjoy the desserts after such a large meal! We will eat a large snack around 5, but that's it!

We are having a late lunch at 3:30pm because I want to be able to enjoy the dessert party...

We had a 4:30 dinner @ BOG and our Dessert Party was at 8pm, between two of us we each had a coffee, a soda and 4 chocolate strawberries since we were still full from dinner

Also, does anyone know if it's worth it with a 6 & 12 yr old?

Depends on your 6 & 12 year old. Do they like sweets and fruits? Do they eat like birds? If your 6 year old eats a brownie and a strawberry and then finished...well maybe it's not worth it. You have to decide on your kids if it'll be worth it. We skipped dinner, then went to the party.

In fact my DD10 holds the medal, if there was one, for most ice cream bowls in one night. She ate like 8-10 bowls of ice cream - I'm not sure that is something to be proud of....:rotfl: but we allowed it for the evening.. That is the only dessert she ate the whole time, but she loved it. My DD7 tried a better variety than just ice cream, and she loved it too.

I think your daughter beat my daughter on the bowls of ice cream :rotfl: If you go to the dessert party you have to expect the kids to eat more than usual! For our family there are no limits in Disney. We eat pretty healthy on a regular basis but in Disney there are no limits!

I keep seeing people ask if the cost of the Dessert Party is worth it? IMO Young or Old the answer is Yes, Yes, Yes!!!

The fact of not having to wait 1-2. Hours down on the street for a spot either infront of the masses or to be able to sit on the curb, not being crushed and pushed when Wishes is over is worth the price even if you do not eat or drink a thing.

I totally agree & am VERY frugal.

We did this last May only b/c it was DS's b-day & we would do it again in a heart beat. Not being crushed, pushed, shoved, & having to get a good spot hours early only have have a 7 foot person stand in front of you makes it SO worth it. And it is very yummy too!

We just went to our first dessert party and it was awesome!! Thanks to this thread for helping me get the reservation :)

my TA has called, I called concierge and they are both telling me the same thing that April hasn't been released to book yet.

April has been open since March first. If you haven't already checked yourself You Should try booking it yourself online. Good Luck!

Canceling our ressie for 4/7 for five...kids are more interested in rides than Wishes:upsidedow I guess we'll try it sometime when it's just hubby and I.

So, I haven't thought much about the dessert party. We've done it at least twice in the past, and love it.

We are going to be there in July. When will the reservations for July open? What is the pattern now -- is it 90 days ahead, or just the month prior? Is the new website working for scheduling this event?
