I would like to hear from anyone who has done the Wishes Cruise. Has anyone taken both the Wishes Cruise and the Illuminations Cruise? If so which is best? How much did you tip? Would you do it again? E-mail me at mickeys_friend@hotmail.com

I haven't done an Illuminations cruise but I really enjoyed the Wishes cruise I went on. I would definitely do it again if I had a large enough group of people. When you split the cost of a full boat it's really inexpensive! I don't remember how much we tipped the captain, if StaceyA is around she could probably tell you since she was the head of our group that went. We left from the Wilderness Lodge and they took us on a little tour of the seven seas lagoon and gave us history on different things that you pass along the way then the boat stops out in the lagoon with a view of the MK in the distance. The fireworks are beautiful but after seeing them up close I know you miss a lot of the atmosphere on the cruise. You can't hear the sound or see the lights changing on the castle. Still a great experience though! We wanted to see Spectromagic after the cruise and we jokingly asked our captain if he could drop us off at the MK, well bless his heart he sure did try but he couldn't dock so he did the next best thing and dropped us at the Contemporary so we could catch the monorail. We got into the MK right before the parade started. I thought that was really sweet of him to do that for us. :)

Both Cruises are approximately 1-hour.
Which is best? Matter of opinion for sure, but if I was going to do both I would do Wishes first, then IllumiNations..... Why?

Well Wishes is beautiful and some of the most innovated fireworks I have ever seen. And seeing them from Seven Seas Lagoon gives you an unparalleled view with the castle centered within the presentation. But, you can hardly hear the music and narration, and you are a bit away from the BOOMS of the fireworks. But, it is STILL very beautiful!

IllumiNations is UP-CLOSE and sometimes very personal! Once again, you can't beat the view from under the bridge. Everything is right in front of you and you don't have to bother with locating an area hours before the show and sit and wait and deal with any last minute view-crashers..... You don't have any obstructions aside from three trees that get between you and the globe while it is making its way to the center of World Showcase Lagoon. And you are CLOSE to the fireworks and fire, you will feel the heat of the fire you will feel the impact of the BOOMS! And depending on the winds direction, you may also be treated to some smoke and ash, but I would not not do this cruise just because of this possibility.

I know may people who do an IllumiNations Cruise every visit and they say that it is the highlight of their visit.

Did I answer everything?

Thank you - you just made me feel better! I have a Wishes cruise booked for a large group of us going this month. I had been wondering if I should have done Illuminations instead after hearing how much everyone likes it. We do have several young kids going with us, though, and I don't think they would like being that "up close and personal" with the Booms and smoke, etc. So now I feel like I made the right decision!!
