Wishes Bride with Question on Disney Cruise Discounts...

We are getting married at Disney next October - we are planning on staying at the GF from Saturday to Saturday with our wedding being on a Tuesday. I have been considering adding a quick 4 night Disney cruise as a special "just our time" for the honeymoon. Does anyone know if there are any discounts available for Disney cruises if you are a Wishes bride like the hotel room rate discounts or does anyone know if there are ever discounts on Disney cruises? I have never seen one other then the shipboard credits.

A travel agent can tell you more about general discounts, but there are no wedding-related discounts available on DCL for people having a wedding at Walt Disney World. The reason you get a hotel discount at WDW is that you are guaranteeing Disney a certain number of hotel room nights will be purchased by you and your guests - DCL doesn't get any money from you, so they don't offer any discounts. Heck, even if you're having a DCL wedding, you still don't get any discounts!

This is correct. There are no discounts for Disney Wishes or Escape couples who want to honeymoon with DCL. We just asked about it for our upcoming Disney wedding.

We ultimately booked a Transatlantic Disney cruise for our honeymoon and received $150 in onboard credit from Disney and our travel agent. Although it would have been nice to receive another discount from our Disney wedding, not having the discount was not a deal breaker.

As an aside: yes, our Disney wedding is coming up, and I think my fiance and I are just at the point where we accept that quality costs money... and to us, Disney is high quality and excellent service. We have a (reasonable) budget, and we overcame the struggle with the idea of paying for the quality we want to receive. I remember at one point my fiance and I turned to each other and said, "It IS our wedding and honeymoon after all, not 'just another Disney trip.'" Ah, perspective.
