I hope someone can help!! I would like to do something for my 40 odd guests coming over from the UK for my wedding that is planned for early Sep 08. I think that I while ago I read about a viewing of wishes in a seperate area....but that is about as much as I can say! If this does exist could someone tell me an approx price, Is there a max no of guests and how would I book it? I really hope that im not going mad:rotfl2: As my DF does'nt really like Illuminations and Fantasmic isnt really what im after.

I got told by my planner this week that you cant have a wishes party but I have heard on here that you can!

We get married on 2nd sep next year all from the uk as well!

are you thinking about the Wishes Cruise...thats where you rent boats & troly in the lake until it starts & you watch the fireworks from the water!!

I'd heard about some people doing parties at the marina at the Grand Floridian, from which you can see Wishes. They may or may not pipe music in, and I believe you can also have characters attend the party.

I don't know much else about it however. Good luck!

Marina Patio during Wishes. I am paying to have the music piped in. I got the idea from Janet2k!

Babystar, a couple years ago I inquired about having a dessert party inside the Magic Kingdom. My Event Manager told me that it was not possible -- but then he told me that he'd look into it anyway. Well, he did, and he was told "no." (I loved him for trying, though!) Just because I've been told "no," doesn't mean that you shouldn't look into it. You never know what the answer will be until you ask the question. ;)

I have held a few parties at the Grand Floridian's marina. I had to pay extra to have the Wishes soundtrack piped into the venue. It is a lovely location, very intimate and out-of-the-way. If a location like this appeals to you, please discuss it with your FTW wedding coordinator. He/She will tell you what the maximum number of guests is, as well as the various fees involved.

I have the patio at the Grand Floridian marina tentatively booked (cross your fingers!) for a dessert party. I also wasn't interested in seeing illuminations and this works out perfectly since our reception is going to be in the White Hall room. We will approximately 40 people as well. I am not sure about pricing yet but I assuming it may be comparable to the dessert pricing for illuminations?? I am not sure if there is a site fee yet but I do know that I was told $650 + + to pipe the music in.

I got the idea from Lisacope and Janet2K. Thanks! Janet2K has some really good pictures from her party.

Thanks for the insight! Im not sure if the cost to have the music piped in is a bit steep but will def chat to my DF about it and go from there!! Cheers again, what would I do without others knowledge!:thumbsup2
