Wishes and a seat?

 Yikes! Thanks for sharing that info!!

To be fair, i had sandals on and bugs LOVE me! My friend had sneakers and was fine. But I will definitely not be risking sitting! They are probably still active from all the construction they did (went through this with a family deck for same reason). So hopefully it eventually gets dealt with.

When was this if I can ask? We watched Wishes from that FP+ area mid-April, I had on flip flops and had no problems that night. I wanted to sit so bad, but I'll never forget a fire ant attack on the River Country beach we saw :sad1: so I usually just don't sit on the ground at Disney, especially at night!

We prefer to watch parades from Frontierland/Liberty Square because it's less crowded, but I can't speak to how the fireworks look from back there. And the seating issue certainly isn't any better.

Exactly one month ago. I was standing on the turf too, not the paved portions.

I think you are going to have to count on standing for about 20 minutes, no matter where you are. However, the standing for Wishes is minimal compared to the overall amount if walking and waiting in line, so if standing is going to be an issue, you should consider a wheelchair or scooter.

I've done both the FP+ area and the dessert party, and I would do either again. They asked us to stand about 5 minutes before the show in the FP+ area. For the dessert party, people didn't go to the wall way in advance, so you really would be standing at least for the length of Wishes.

You have received great advise about other places to watch, but for a FIRST time, I think you should be in front of the castle.

Word of caution about the FP area - fire ants! My poor toes :( and I was standing. The bites hurt for near 2 weeks. I saw other comments on the boards about this about a month before we went, figured they would have it fixed by then, and forgot about it. Sadly they were definitely still a problem! I was in the area closest to tomorrowland, so the side closer to adventureland may not have them.
OMG! Those are what I felt!? We were sitting down then I felt a bit if crawling and jumped up. Knocked one off my finger so only a partial bite. Ugh hate those things. We stood and were do e but had closed tie shoes. In the FO section along the railing there is a but if a ledge to sit. Many people were sitting there until the show started. I have severe back pain and it was pretty bad last night but totally doable. Have fun and good luck!

After I read this thread and it reminded me of them, I sent an email to guest communications. I told them no big deal (even though ow!) because I am definitely not trying to claim something. Just asked them to please get rid of the annoying little things!

We went on May 20th and used the area I front of the Plaza. We did not experience fire ants.

Thanks for the warning. Will make sure to wear tennis shoes and be real cautious.
